Description from owner

Description

Lewis's Tower is set in the rugged landscape of the dunes in Jersey's only national park, close to the nature reserve and wetland area withe direct beach access. It makes the perfect base for an active beach trip and is lose to many beachfront cafes and restaurants. Surf schools are close-by and two golf courses are a short distance away. Built in 1835 to help fortify Jersey's coast, Lewis's Tower is one of many Martello Towers, or gun towers, built along St Ouen's Bay at that time.

Split over three levels, the tower is basic coastal tower accommodation meaning there are no mains facilities running to the tower. A public toilet is available 24 hours a day and is located 100 yards away. Guests must bring their own camping beds/sleeping bags, etc. The fort can accommodate 20 guests during the day but due to local restrictions only 10 can stay overnight.

Barge Aground, one of Jersey Heritage's self-catering properties, is just a hundred yards away and can be rented in tandem
