Description

Seascape is a wonderful terraced property, situated towards the east end of the town. Its location right on the coast means it is lucky enough to boast unspoilt views of the Firth of Forth and the North Sea beyond. On sunny summer days, this is a particularly spectacular feature and sometimes it is even possible to see dolphins in the water when they stray towards the shores. The house itself has been newly furbished and is in immaculate condition throughout. Its open-plan design has been carefully considered to afford the best views of the sea from all the ground floor reception areas. On the upper level, there are similarly unrivalled views from the upstairs bedroom. It also features an enclosed garden to the front and back where you can sit out and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. Ample roadside parking is available and the centre of the town, with its amenities and restaurants, is within easy walking distance. Seascape is also a perfect base from which to explore the other picturesque

Ample roadside parking is available and the centre of the town, with its amenities and restaurants, is within easy walking distance. Seascape is also a perfect base from which to explore the other picturesque towns of the East Neuk, with Pittenweem and Elie within 10 minutes drive in either direction. And the historic university town of St Andrews, with its cultural and sporting attractions, is a 20 minute drive away and there are bus links from St Monans around the coast. The accommodation is arranged over two levels with two of the bedrooms on the ground floor and the other on the floor above. It is perfect for families or groups of friends in search of a relaxing coastal holiday but with plenty of things to do and see within close reach.

Ground floor

Open-plan lounge and dining area: this spacious room has stunning views out across the sea and ample seating for 6 people. There are two window seats, an ideal place from which to take in the breathtaking outlook or relax with a book. There is a TV with Freeview channels, a DVD player and, if music is the order of the day, a CD player too. The dining area has a large table with seating for 6 and the sea views provide an extraordinary setting for your meals that is hard to come by elsewhere.

Kitchen/breakfast room: a modern galley-style kitchen with well-stocked cupboards and all mod-cons (including dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer). It has an electric oven with gas hobs. There is an adjoining breakfast area with a table and seating for 6, convenient for mornings.

Utility room: this room houses a washing machine and drier. It also has plenty of cupboard storage space.

Fantastic large new shower room: there is a walk in electric shower, toilet and wash hand basin. All installed in 2016 and of a very high quality and beautifully finished

Bedroom 1: a double bedroom with wardrobe and chest of drawers. It can be made up as a twin if required, thanks to zip-and-link beds.

Bedroom 2: another double, again with wardrobe and chest of drawers.

Upper floor

Bedroom 3: the upstairs double has great sea views from an elevated perspective and enjoys lots of sunlight from the sea-facing windows.

Bathroom: the upstairs bathroom serves the bedroom and features bath, separate shower, toilet and wash hand basin. Again, all the fittings in this room are brand new.

Location description from manager

The Scotland region

St Monans

The East Neuk village of St Monans is a small fishing village, steeped in history, which used to have Millers boat yard which built fairly substantial fishing boats. The harbour is very picturesque and as a relic of the past are the saltpans which in yesteryears were an active part of the local economy. It contains all the facilities you could hope for in a small village: there are 2 general stores, a Post Office, cafe and the Blue Pier smokehouse and fish merchants.
There is a very famous restaurant in the village “The Seafood Restaurant” which also owns the Seafood Restaurant in St Andrews. The village is also fortunate to have an excellent restaurant at the Mayview Hotel.
St Monans is very centrally placed being 20 minutes from St Andrews, under 10 minutes from Anstruther which has an excellent 9-hole golf course not to mention a superb restaurant called “Rockies” at the club. Elie and Earlsferry and its beautiful golf course and the Elie Sports Club with tennis and bowls and a 9-hole golf course are also about 10 minutes away.
The village and the house has superb views across the Firth of the Forth to the Isle of May and the Bass Rock. Dundee and St Andrews offer a more comprehensive choice of shops and restaurants and are just a short drive away.
Pittenweem to the north of St Monans is host to one of Scotlands most famous art festivals in August with a stunning fireworks display to open the festival.

“Did not recharge the batteries so much as took the battaries out.”

Reviewed 13 Jul 2016

The views from the cottage were mesmerising lots of time was spent just gazing at the sea while sitting in the living room or in the garden outside. The cottage is very well equipped whether that be in the kitchen or games and jigsaws to keep people occupied of an evening. The cottage was immaculate and obviously a lot of attention has been put into furnishings and the decor which gives this place a very homely feel.

“A very comfortable, welcoming family home.”

This house sits in a fantastic position overlooking the Firth of Forth opposite the Bass Rock and Berwick Law. The hours of sunshine are amazing and the sunsets not too bad either. Check the shower has been cleaned properly!

Seascape is an amazing base for exploring the East Neuk and beyond. The view is breathtaking, the house immaculate and St Monan's is as picturesque as you can get. The amenities in the house are excellent. My husband, young son and family that dropped by were all very impressed.
