“Only issue? Couldn't move in!”

Reviewed 16 Aug 2012

Teenagers appreciated wi-fi and freeview - TV reception often shocking in this area, great selection of DVDs and Books too. Golf club (lovely short 9 hole as well as the "proper" courses, and they let you walk the dog round), Constantine and St Merryn all walkable. Owner really friendly, house exactly as described, very relaxing - we LOVED it! Thank you to Tommy and Nova

Great.....glad you enjoyed your holiday....and the dogs did too!! This area is quite unique re dog friendly amenities. There can't be many golf courses around where you can walk your dog whilst playing, with the background of The Atlantic Ocean..?! All the Best Tommy and Nova Armstrong

“Relaxing break in lovely location”

This area is truly beautiful. There are fantastic beaches and coastal walks nearby, excellent local shops and pubs. Everyone was so friendly. The house was warm to return to after a day out. The log fire made it feel extra cosy in misty damp weather (our first two days). The enclosed garden and the tiled and wooden floors were perfect for the dogs. Plenty of dog walks across fields from house. Washing and drying facilities much appreciated. The owner was helpful and friendly when arranging our stay by email and texts from his own holiday. Would recommend as we (4 adults and 2 black labradors) all had a great holiday. Thanks.

Thank You!! We're glad you enjoyed the house....see you next time!! Tommy Armstrong

“A lovely house to stay at like being at home so comfortable”

Reviewed 21 Oct 2011

The house is so comfortable, clean and everything is there. Lovely location, close to beach and pub. The dogs loved it.

Thank You! We're really glad you enjoyed your stay, and appreciated the location of Towan House. It's so easy to reach what we beleive are the BEST beaches in North Cornwall.... and the pub....well thats easy to reach too, and as you and the Dogs discovered, not so easy to leave!! Tommy and Nova Armstrong

“Fantastic location. Felt like home from home.”

Reviewed 21 Oct 2011

I stayed at Towan House in July 2011 with my Son, Daughter and my Sons girlfriend. We found the welcome was warm and friendly, Tommy being a local "he may not sound like it" was so helpful with local information. The house itself doesn't have the feel of a holiday home, it feels like home from home. The amenities were great which made a dreary week in July feel much better. The location is fantastic, it's close to all the local beaches and a short stroll from a couple of very good pubs to eat. I will definately be going back to Towan House.

Thank You for your kind words! The house is not your average holiday let....and it's our aim to keep it that way too! I've lived in Cornwall for well over 30 years and we beleive this is probably the best location for a family holiday in the County.... Tommy and Nova Armstrong

“Great House, Great Location.”

Reviewed 19 Oct 2011

We initially chose Towan House as it was dog friendly but in the end did not take our dog. This is a gem of a house. It is relaxed, spacious, nicely decorated and as a mum who likes to cook even when on holiday has a well equipped kitchen and the back double bedroom has the most amazingly comfortable mattress. There is a lovely garden although we didn't make the most of it because we were lucky enough to have fantastic weather and spent all day on the nearby beaches. That really is the joy of Towan House - great location so close to the best beaches in Cornwall - Constantine and Harlyn Bay. The nearby village was fab, particularly if you do like to eat out. The owner Tommy was great to deal with and we would highly recommend it and plan to go back.

Thank You! Thanks also for mentioning the facilities in the house....we do try to ensure there is everything you will need to prepare and cook food at Towan House! We also enjoy cooking and carry that interest through to equipping the house for the job!! After a day on the beaches (....MOST BEAUTIFUL IN CORNWALL....!)The restuarants in the village are some of the best in the area - no need to drive to Padstow if you don't want to...!! If you do decide to eat out - ROSEL AND CO, just next to THE DOG HOUSE bar, is one of the finest eating experiences you will have! Tommy and Nova Armstrong

“Fab location, a real home and dogs welcome!”

The owner was quick to respond to all my emails which is always encouraging when booking on line. The house was spotless and had a lovely homey feel. Thoughtful touches like tea, coffee, milk and a full cream tea (scones, jam, cream) and muffins awaited us and were so appreciated after a long car journey. The location was lovely, a pretty little hamlet and a short car ride or bike ride to some of the best beaches in the area. Great local pubs, a very handy small supermarket and a really great bakery selling delicious cornish pasties. The house was perfect for our family, we have two teenagers. We had a number of barbeques in the garden which was nice and private. It was one of our most enjoyable family holidays and we would definitely go back to Towan House.

Thank you..! We think the house is in a GREAT location - just a mile from the beach and it gets you away from the chaos of the summer traffic nearer the beach! The Cornish Cream Teas (Jam first! THEN the Clotted Cream...!)have always been a feature at Towan House...a nice surprise after a long journey! We hopefully look forward to welcoming you guys back again. Tommy and Nova

“Great location close to many dog friendly beaches,”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2011

This is a great house at a a very reasonable price compared to the properties half a mile down the road at Constantine Bay which would cost twice the price in the high season. Towan House is a quirky little property with a great deal of character and lots of examples of local artwork adorning the walls. If you were to visit out of season, there is a super woodburning stove to add to the gas central heating, should you need it. The house is dog friendly with most of the floors being wooden floorboards or tiles taking away the worrying combination of wet dogs, carpets and rented property. Yes, you could pay twice the price for a property 10 minutes walk closer to the beach but why would you? A great property with splendid owners, always there when you need them but not "in your face" ....... 5 mins bike ride from St Merryn with Spar, bakery/pasty shop, bars, Chinese take away, chippy, petrol station/hardware store etc and 8 minutes by car to Tesco at Padstow ..... Excellent location !!

Thank You! Value for money is the name of the game! Over the last 20 odd years of renting Towan House we've learned that people do appreciate a good deal! Once again its great to see the work that goes into Towan House is recognised....and that you guys liked the artwork! This comes from many locations worldwide as well as from local artists. Location is important when looking for a holiday rental. We beleive the house is in just the right spot, and represents good value for money! Cheers! Tommy and Nova
