Both the house and cottage are tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard throughout. It is - 'a real home from home'.
The house and the cottage both have modern kitchens which are very well equipped with oven, hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer, washing machines and dryers as well as good quality oven and tableware. There is seating for informal dining in both kitchens plus high chairs for babies and toddlers.
In the house there is a large, elegant dining room with a large, extendable oak table that will easily seat 14 guests. The house and cottage both have living rooms with comfortable sofas and chairs, Freeview TV and DVD player, CD player/Ipod docking station. Both properties are centrally heated but, in addition, the house has an open fire and the cottage has a stove effect electric heater.
Between the house and cottage, there are six bedrooms, three WC/bathrooms and one WC. The bedrooms in the house are two doubles(one with ensuite), one twin and one with two bunk beds. In the cottage there is one double and one twin. All bedrooms all well appointed and decorated to a high standard. Every room has a hairdryer. Bedding and towels are included. For babies we have two travel cots.
No one wants to launder and iron on holiday but sometimes needs must so both the cottage and the house have a washing machine, tumble dryer, large ironing board and quality steam iron just in case!
The large, enclosed and attractive garden overlooks surrounding fields and is south facing so is a lovely spot for relaxing. Barbecues and outdoor tables and chairs are provided for dining al fresco, which is just lovely when the weather is good.
For days when the weather isn't at its best, we have a great games room with air hockey, pool table, table football, large flat screen Freeview TV, DVD player and Ipod docking station. Inside the house and cottage, there are shelves of books and cupboards of games and jigsaws as well as toys for children.
Fabulous for families and groups of friends, we welcome a limited number of well behaved dogs by prior agreement and have ample off-street parking.
To welcome you, we provide complimentary tea, coffee and sugar plus a small bottle of milk and some Cornish biscuits. Complimentary sample size toiletries are provided in the bathrooms and cleaning clothes, bin bags and a small supply of dishwasher tablets are provided in the kitchen.

Location description from owner

The England region

The biggest attraction of North Cornwall is undoubtedly its spectacular coastline. We are handily located to enjoy such beautiful beaches as Constantine Bay, Treyarnon, Porthcothan, Booby's Bay, Harlyn and Trevose - all within a few miles. Try surfing, bodyboarding or paddle boarding, have a game of golf at the links course at Trevose Golf Club, climb down (and up!) the Bedruthen Steps and explore the beaches and caves there, admire the stunning scenery on walks along the Coastal Path or just relax and enjoy an ice cream on the beach!
Padstow is only a few miles away and there is always lots to do at this busy and very attractive harbour town with its many restaurants and shops. Try mackerel fishing or other boat trips from Padstow harbor, hire bikes and cycle the Camel Trail to Wadebridge (another lovely town) or even Bodmin, learn to waterski, visit the Lobster Hatchery or indulge in a meal out at Stein's famous Seafood Restaurant or Paul Ainsworth's No. 6. A short ferry ride from Padstow across the estuary brings you to Rock with its sailing school and yet another beautiful beach. A walk along the coast from Rock will take you to the once buried church at St Enodoc and Michelin starred chef Nathan Outlaw's restaurant at the St Enodoc Hotel.
Newquay, with its renowned surfing at Fistral Beach, and Watergate Bay, home of Jamie Oliver's restaurant, Fifteen, are both a short drive of less than 10 miles away. Also easy to get to in the car are St Ives, home of the Tate Gallery, and The Eden Project. Well within a day trip are the famous Lost Gardens of Heligan or Truro, Cornwall's historic county town.

St Merryn

We are located in a peaceful setting just outside the busy village of St Merryn. The centre of the village is a 5-10 minute walk away and so very handy for popping to the shops for groceries, beach gear, petrol, newspapers and Malcolm Barnecutt's wonderful pasties. The village has a smattering of restaurants and cafes, a fish and chip shop and a pub in the centre. Rick Stein's Cornish Arms pub serves food and is 5 minutes walk outside the village.
The famous Seven Bays of St Merryn - Porthcothan, Treyarnon, Constantine Bay, Booby's Bay, Mother Ivy's Bay, Harlyn and Trevone - are all only a short drive away. We also love going to Bedruthen Steps, which is 10-15 minutes drive away.
Padstow is 3 miles away and, apart from the obvious attractions of the harbour with its restaurants and shops, has a Boots and a Tescos supermarket. There is also a good farm shop just outside the town, off the road from St Merryn.
Wadebridge is another attractive, larger, town which, as well as being enjoyable to wander around, has supermarkets, chemists, hardware shop, etc.

“Perfect long weekend luxury - wonderful on every level...”

Reviewed 22 Feb 2017

Back again for a second January long weekend with the family - the house and cottage provide every comfort and amenity for our stay... We bought the dogs this time - great enclosed garden was invaluable. The kids (including the big ones) made very good use of the fantastic games room - gorgeous beaches around every corner and the weather allowed some great walks. Julie, the owner has been super friendly and helpful when booking - nothing too much trouble, which is exactly what you need for a well earned weekend away... We will be back next year and would highly recommend to anyone wanting high quality accommodation at affordable prices. Need to mention the Chinese takeaway in St Merryn who catered for us all on a January weekend when everything else was closed, apart from the pub...

“Gorgeous house, beautiful setting...”

Wonderful weekend at Lower Trevorgus House and Cottage to celebrate our Mum's 75th birthday among others.. Fabulously appointed, warm and welcoming - the house and cottage afforded every comfort... The games room was an absolute hit, especially on a wet January weekend..! The coastline is well known to us and is breathtaking - you don't need sunshine to appreciate it's golden beaches and rugged glory.. One of the best houses we've ever had the privilege to stay in, and we've stayed in many all over Conrwall.. We will definitely be back - thank you very much...

Thank you for the wonderful review. I am so glad that you enjoyed staying at the house and cottage. They really are a great place for spending time with family and friends. Repeat guests automatically receive a 5% discount.
