Description from owner

Description

Le Boterff is a traditional Breton farmhouse set in almost an acre of attractive gardens in an extremely peaceful, rural location of outstanding natural beauty. The pretty little village of St Mayeux is approximately 1 Km away (where there is a mini supermarket, Post Office and Bar). The attractive town of Mur de Bretagne with its shops, cafes, restaurants and bars and supermarket is just 6 km away. Being centrally located we are ideally situated for exploring all areas of Brittany, with the stunning coastlines to the north, south and west all within easy reach.

The stone and granite longère has been beautifully renovated to provide two spacious and comfortable self catering Gites (to sleep 2-6) - Rose Gite (See Property No 76544) and Chevrefeuille Gite. Both gites have a wealth of attractive original features such as timber beams and feature stonework. The cosy log burners are great to relax by if it should turn chilly in the evening.

The open-plan living rooms are spacious and comfortable with lounge seating and dining furniture to accommodate the whole family. The kitchens are fully equipped with everything that you are likely to need, with full cooking facilities and the all-important dishwasher!

All bedrooms are spacious with thermostatic electric heating, dressing tables and clothes hanging / storage. The modern tiled shower rooms have extra large shower enclosures.

B&B is available (See 400752) and Caravan / Camping is available on our peaceful rural site adjacent to our gardens. The property is ideal for individuals, couples, families and groups. Dogs are welcome too (by arrangement). Short and long stays welcome.

The stunning Lac de Guerledan is just 10 minutes away for sailing, boating and water sports or just relaxing on the sandy beaches or in a lakeside cafe. The Abbey de Bon Repos and the beautiful Nantes-Brest Canal are nearby. Other local attractions include historic chateaux, lovely villages and beautiful medieval towns (such as Josselin, Dinan, Moncontour, Quintin).

There are a number of restaurants, bars, cafés and crêperies in the area to suit all tastes and pockets where you can sample Breton specialities in simple cafés and Bistros or gastronomic delights in Michelin starred Restaurants.

Other activities include walking, cycling, fishing and golf. The main road from St Mayeux to Mur de Bretagne is regularly used as part of the Tour de France. Most of the roads are extremely quiet making walking cycling and driving a real pleasure!

There are many other family attractions within easy reach. There is so much to do that there is never enough time!

We live on site and are on hand (if required) to help you to get the most out of your stay in beautiful Brittany.

Getting around

There are many wonderful walks and cycle routes along very quiet country lanes, beside lakes and canals, and along disused railway tracks, with stunning views, througout the area. A car is essential for exploring further afield. There are railway stations at Pontivy, Saint Brieuc, Loudéac and Rennes. There are also steams railways to be enjoyed nearby.

Interaction with guest

We live on site and are usually on hand to welcome all guests on arrival. If we cannot be present for any reason, we will leave you a note with access information so that you can get into your gite immediately. On our return we will come to see you in order to check that you have settled in and have everything you need. We will be very happy to advise you on places to eat and drink, places to visit and things to do in the area. We will be pleased to make reservations and call for more information as required. We will do all we can to ensure that you have a most enjoyable stay, so we are pleased to help and assist you in any way we can, on request, but if you wish to be left alone to get on with your holiday we fully respect that too.
