Location description from owner

The England region

Cornwall has an enormous range of attractions for anyone wishing to holiday here. As one of England's premier tourist locations, it's beautiful beaches, quaint fishing villages and atmospheric moorland offer everything for families and individuals alike.

Cornwall has 4 main regions, each with it's own unique charm.

St. Mawgan

St Mawgan is renowned within Cornwall as being one of the most attractive 'back in time' villages we have. The village green plays host to many attractions throughout the year as does the16th century village Inn 'The Falcon' which has a fantastic restaurant and beautiful gardens. Being so close to the coast, a leisurely stroll through the woods and valley to the beach at Mawgan Porth is a must. The village itself has a lovely tearoom serving luscious home made cakes, pastries and jams as well as home cooked pasty's. St Mawgan is only 2 miles from Watergate Bay - the home of Jamie Olivers 15 restaurant - and only 8 miles from the quaint fishing harbour of Padstow where acclaimed chef Rick Stein has numerous restaurants and shops....well worth a visit.

“Wonderful cottage for a great price”

Stayed at Lobbs cottage with my partner and 2 other couples for a long weekend. It was a home from home and had everything we needed - including a BBQ and lovely garden. Location was great as easy to find (when following their directions - not sat nav), a nice village and close to lots of attractions. We would all stay again! Thanks for a lovely break.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. So glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope to see you all again. Kind regards Cameron and Julie

“Fantastic standard and location”

Reviewed 14 Jan 2013

We stayed for three days over New Year as a much needed break for two couples and a 13 year old. The communication with the owners had been friendly, prompt, helpful and efficient. The quality of the building, decor, furniture, bedding, towels and equipment was first class and the place was spotless. The appeal 'in the flesh' was even greater than in the very inviting advert , the beds were far too comfortable, and we had a thoroughly relaxing stay. Despite the changeable weather, we walked into the village a couple of times, had a great meal at The Falcon Inn and on NY's Day enjoyed the walk through the woods to the beach and surrounding countryside. We would highly recommend this accommodation and will be looking for an opportunity to return.

Thank you for taking the time to review Lobbs cottage. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and the cottage. We would love to see you again. Cam and Julie

“Like going back in time.....”

Reviewed 4 Oct 2012

I was holidaying with my grandchildren and wanted somewhere quiet and in close proximity to beaches. The house was beautifully furnished with everything we needed, and lovely comfy beds and very quiet and peaceful. Beach wasn't really in walking distance with small children but there were some lovely beaches within a very short drive. The village itself was like going back in time - even boasting a village green where we could hear the sound of ball on willow as cricket matches took place in the evening. A car is essential if you want to get out and about, as the village is small with not a lot going on but there is parking for two vehicles so not a problem. The village pub serves lovely food, but booking a table is essential if you don't want to have to wait for a table as they get VERY busy - as we found on the first night when we just turned up. The house is situated on a hill overlooking the village so could be a problem for anyone with mobility problems as they would not be able to walk into the village and back - they would need to drive. The owners couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. All in all a lovely week, in a lovely property, in a picture postcard village - superb.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and posting the photos on Tripadvisor. Hope to see you again Cam and Julie

“A truly wonderful rental property...”

Reviewed 20 Aug 2012

Lobbs cottage is an excellent property offering all of the comforts of home. A great deal of thought has gone into the decor and furniture making a really comfortable homely retreat. The property is perfect in size for a family - we are 5 strong and there was space througout allowing us to relax and enjoy. The bedrooms are again very nicely furnished and the beds very comfortable. The local village is within a five minute walk and has all you need on your doorstep - great pub with excellent food, excellent village store. The beach at Mawgan Porth is a very close drive away or walk if that way inclined. Also very easy for Watergate Bay and all the other local beaches. All in all an excellent property worthy of a visit.

Thank you for your review. So glad you enjoyed your stay and that you loved Lobbs cootage. Cam and Julie

“Great family holiday, great house, great location,”

We had a fantastic family holiday . We have for children aged 9-14 the house was perfect for us to stay very comfortably, it had everything you could want from a holiday home. The location was just lovely in a pretty village with a friendly family pub and a post office with scrummy home made jam. The beach is a five minute drive away and what a lovely clean beach it is. I would recommend this holiday to friends and family and we definately hope to revisit next year.

“Excellent accommodation, beautifully furnished & well equiped”

Lobbs cottage is a lovely property. It has recently been converted/renovated and it is beautifully furnished throughout. The kitchen is a very nice size and very well equiped. The bedrooms (downstairs) are again very nicely furnished and the beds very comfortable. St Mawgan is a very nice little village with an excellent pub serving first class food; the village shop was is useful for emergencies. ) The cottage is very convenient - Newquay, Padstow, St Austell (Eden Project) and St Ives is not all that far. It was a lovely place for my wife, daughter and her baby (9 months) to stay.

Thank you for your review. Happy that you had a nice stay and hope to see you again Kind regards Cam and Julie

Couldn't fault the house or location. It was great to be so close to the beach + cliffs, but still in a lovely rural setting with all we needed from local amenities. The house was a gem - peaceful and relaxing - a great family let.

Thank you for your review and so pleased you enjoyed your holiday. Kind regards Cam and Julie
