The Roseland Peninsula region
Cornwall has some of the best beaches and sailing in the UK plus great restaurants which makes it so popular for holidays .St Mawes is a very attractive village with a good coffee shop, Tresanton Hotel and The Idle Rocks Hotel. A great sailing club. It has all the facilities needed for a holiday. Ferry services to Falmouth, Truro and Place Manor. Near the Eden Project - 30 minutes by car. "A magical place with spectacular waterside location"
We have just returned from our fourth stay at Herons and the magic has not faded, Our first was when our children were very young and they loved exploring the fields and woodland behind the property; now that they are teenagers they are as enthusaistic as we are about exploring the river and Carrick Roads on the various craft included with the rental. It is a paradise for sailors and kayakers but even those who prefer to watch such activities from the shore will find plenty of opportunities for that, not to mention lovely walks along the coastal path on either side of the Roseland peninsula. The fact that the best way to access it is by boat gives it a feeling of remotenesss yet St Mawes with its shops, cafes and pubs is just a short walk away while there is no better way to get to Falmouth than via the St Mawes ferry. The house itself is homely and confortable, the kitchen well equipped and the newly installed heaters and wood burning stove means it is also very cosy when the wind blows outside - although the sheltered location means it is usually much balmier than anywhere else. A perfect place to get away from it all

"Unique location; perfect for family holiday"
This really is a GREAT place to stay; a unique, beautiful and peaceful setting! The cottage is well-equipped and comfortable - a home from home. The water-side location makes this a perfect place to unwind, while providing a great opportunity to explore the creek and estuary down to St Mawes by canoe, sail, or motor boat. Beautiful views & lovely walks. Love this place so much we've been back every year!
