Location description from owner

The Limousin region

Located on the Haute Vienne/Dordogne/Charente borders, and the famous Richard the Lionheart Route; this beautiful rural region is rich in historic sites, attractions and activities.

There are many large lakes, numerous chateaux, quaint villages and larger historical towns and cities to explore.

Throughout the year there are markets and fetes to visit - often celebrating local interests, from chestnuts or mushrooms to local cider or wood crafts. The local market at Piégut is a must visit and a favourite.

“Really enjoyed our stay, would definately return as we were made so welcome”

A real home from home, very spacious with everything you will need including the log fire. A lovely part of France and well placed for days out. Thank you for such a pleasant stay. Steve & Zoe, South Yorkshire, England.

“Home from home in the most fantastic setting”

Reviewed 9 Oct 2011

Lorraine and Darren were most welcoming and were at hand if we needed to know anything, although we always had total privacy. The gite is beautifully presented, a lot of thought has gone into it. We were lucky enough to have glorious weather so spent a lot of late afternoons in the garden which was very relaxing. The whole area is peaceful. There is an abundance of wildlife very close at hand - shame I left my binoculars at home!!! Will definitely try to go again.
