Description

Booking now for next year and beyond.

A stunning brand new 1 bedroom granite barn conversion in the beautiful parish of St Mary. Having been finished to a very high standard, it offers most comfortable and elegant accommodation with a traditional feel. It is a perfect base for both a cycling and a walking holiday (walkers having immediate access to the north coast cliff paths) and has a country pub serving good food just accross the road.

It is only a short drive to the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Park (formerly Jersey Zoo) and the La Mare Wine Estate and Distillery is just a walk away and both are well worth a visit. Greve de Lecq beach is less than 2 miles away and can be reached in 30-40 minutes along the cliff path.heading east look out for the unusual sheep which graze the headlands here:http://www.nationaltrust.je/place/mourier-valley/

The property is suitable for up to 3 adults (or 2 adults and a child) plus an infant in a cot. It is not suitable for young

Location description from manager

The Channel Islands region

Jersey, the largest and most southerly of the Channel Islands, with over 450 miles of roadway (comprising a mix of roads and small lanes) as well as a network of over 46 miles of green lanes with a speed limit of 15mph (24kph) where priority is given to walkers, cyclists and horse riders.

The island is well known for its truly magnificent sandy beaches, sheltered coves and crystal clear waters. Inland, winding lanes take you through delightful countryside. Warmed by the waters of the Gulf Stream, Spring arrives early and Summer lingers on. The weather here consistently tops the UK resort charts for sunshine hours and temperature. Jersey is the most southerly of the Channel Islands and summer temperatures average 20C.

The French flavour is all around with French sounding names, continental style bistros, restaurants and pavement cafes. You do not need a passport to visit the Channel Islands unless you intend taking a day trip to France which is a short hop away by sea or air. You will need proof of identity for flights and sea travel to the island.

Some of Jersey's popular events include the Battle Of Flowers (Second week of August), world famous music festival Jersey Live (first weekend of September), International Air Display (Second week of September) as well as many other local festivals and fetes throughout the year.

Whilst the island is served by a bus service, your own transport is highly recommended - either your own car or a hired car or bicycle to make the most of your visit.

St. Mary

Parish of St Mary is among the most northern of Jersey's parishes and has the smallest population. Its most famous natural feature is Devil's Hole, a large crater in its cliffs. It's also home to one of the Islanders' favourite stretches of sand, Grève de Lecq beach, where you can soak up the sun and watch the fishermen unload their catch. And situated at the St Mary's end of St Peter's Valley is The Elms, which serves as the headquarters of the National Trust for Jersey.

Grève de Lecq - the most accessible and popular of the north coast beaches, it has good parking and excellent facilities. The beach faces north and the high surrounding cliffs mean that it loses the sun in late afternoon. It is pleasantly sheltered except from northerly winds, which are rare in summer. It has coarse, golden sand. Safe for all the family except when there is a heavy swell. Activities such as kayaking and coasteering take place in the bay, but need to be pre-booked, they are not permanently based on the quayside. Several cafés and pubs are among the attractions. A deservedly popular, but rarely crowded beach.
