There is also a FreeSat TV and DVD player, lots of books, magazines, some DVD's and an I-Pod/I-Phone docking station with radio for entertainment, just in case the rain sets in.

This almost entirely white home features a very large, open plan living room/dining room and kitchen, tall ceilings and elegant period features, with a mix of modern and antique furniture and a fully equipped, very modern kitchen.
The master bedroom is substantial with an open fireplace and a large period wardrobe, overlooking the 3-tiered, decked rear garden. There is a very smart, fully tiled bathroom with ample store hidden behind mirrored cabinets, and a small, cozy second bedroom with a very comfortable double sofa bed, opening onto the rear garden.
NEW: There's now a TV with Free Sat and a DVD player! There is also wireless broadband, a selection of DVD's to play on your computer and an I-Pod/I-Phone docking station/radio, and there is a washing machine and drying lines (just in case!). For your day on the beach there are folding beach chairs and mats.
|Further details outdoors|
There is a Romeo and Juliet balcony at the front, perfect for a morning coffee at sunrise, and drinks in the afternoon. There is a decked garden on 3 levels at the rear for a snooze in the sun or drinks in the setting sun, well protected from any sea winds.
Just cross the street and you are on the promenade and beach.
There is free parking outside the house along Marina and in adjacent streets, or also a large car park with free overnight parking, just diagonally across the street so it does not spoil the view, which has very reasonable daily rates.
Walk or cycle along the promenade all the way to the old fishing harbour and Hastings Old Town in one direction, or all the way to the DeLaWarr Pavilion Bexhill in the other. The only 2 places located directly ON the beach are Azur, only 3 minutes walk away direction Hastings, or the Beach Cafe for a great English breakfast after a 30 minutes leisurely walk direction Bexhill (opens at 9am). Many local shops, bars and restaurants are in very close walking distance so no need for the car during your break.
Alternatively, explore the local region with its great natural beauty, historic places, many attractions and lovely historic towns and villages, such as Rye, Battle, Herstmonceux, Bodiam, Tenterden or Tunbridge Wells, to name but a few, all within just an hours drive.
I try to make your stay extra special, so please contact me for any special requests. This place is especially suited for people who love a bit of elegance and style, in a calm and relaxed setting.
The East Sussex region
As officially the warmest and sunniest place in the UK, this is a great area for lovers of sea food, seaside walks, country parks, nature walks, architecture, history, local customs and events, historic places and buildings, art, and galleries. And it's the birthplace of motor racing.
Much can be explored on foot, by bike and by car, with much more available within an hours drive for those who want to explore further afar.
There are loads of battle events, castles, and the small town of Battle where it all happened. October is the month to experience its re-enactment. It was Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn's favourite hunting ground too and they've left their mark in castles, hunting lodges and the greatest Royal hunting ground, Ashdown Forest.
There is unique birdwatching in the shingle habitats of Rye Harbour and Dungeness. Walking on the 1066 coastal walkway, the glorious clifftop Country Park, Brede Valley, the Cuckoo Trail, water sports on Bewl Water, the best modernist architecture in Britain and the full range of live music from classical at the De La Warr Pavilion to blues, jazz, bluegrass, Cajun, country and western, folk and tribute bands in most of the old fishing pubs.
Then there's Sissinghurst, Great Dixter, the homes of Rudyard Kipling, Winston Churchill, Anne Boleyn, Henry James, William Logie Baird, John Martyn...........everybody loves it here!
St Leonards on Sea
St. Leonard's-on-Sea was the first custom built seaside resort during mid 19C Regency times for the upper class people from London. Its many exquisite surviving squares, gardens, buildings and facades, especially in Burton St.Leonard's bear testimony to the grandeur of these times, and where the great architects James and Decimus Burton left their mark.
Today it is inviting with its quirky little shops, cafes and restaurants and is home to many galleries.
This is in start contrast to the modern town center of Hastings with its pedestrian zones and the large Priory Meadow shopping center, the buzzing seafront, and the many historic and listed buildings in the Old Town of Hastings, a medieval town formerly home to a community of mostly of farmers and fishermen, where the last remaining beached commercial fishing fleet in Europe squats on the shingle among the famous Rock A Nor net huts.
Hastings and St.Leonard's have so many artists, writers and musicians per square yard that you cannot help running into art galleries, live music and commemorative blue plaques of historic resident authors wherever you look, and now of course the recently opened Jerwood Gallery in Hastings' old harbour.
There are also many festivals here, one every month from July to December. In May the spring festival is also the official opening of the UK motorbike season and every biker seems to gather here on the first Monday in May. September is great with the Coastal Currents Arts Festival in Hastings and St Leonards and a great one in Rye; the famous Hastings Seafood and Wine festival as well. October is the month to re-experience all the aspects of the 1066 Battle of Hastings.
MAY 4-7 JACK-in-the-GREEN pagan spring festival - highlight of the year
JULY 17 - Olympic torch runs through the town
JULY 22 - Pirates Day. The whole town will be dressed in Pirates costumes to take part in the Guinness Record. Don't be left out!
And not forgetting the kids, the fabulous seaside fairground, mini railway, Crazy Golf, Sea Life aquarium, museums, Smugglers Caves, the home of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet, and so much more.

"Beautyful appartement with excellent view"
Really nice appartement with a well-equipped kitchen and one nice bedroom, the other one is quite small and has only a sofa-bed which is less comfortable. Good equipement too for the pebble beach which is right in front of the appartement. The bus-stop is nearby and its only 10 min to go to Hastings centre, about 1 hour to go to Eastbourne. We really liked the clear but warm atmosphere in the livingroom!

"Great apartment in Hastings"
This apartment is perfect for a vacation in Hastings. It is situated just across the beach. It has all you need, and it is furnished with great care. We really liked the atmosphere in this apartment. Kitchen with absolutely all you need. Only small minus is the distance to Old Hastings, that is almost 1/2 hour walk away, but there are several shops close by.
So pleased that you liked your stay and thank you very much for taking the time to write a review. I much hope that I may welcome you for another holiday some time. Meanwhile very best regards and sunny seaside greetings. Petra

"THE SEA JUST OUTSIDE YOUR DOOR"
We enjoyed our stay in the flat by the sea. While "elegant" is a bit of an overstatement, it was spotlessly clean, smelled nice, the beds were very comfortable, and it had a good shower--the essential things for travelers. The rail station was an easy 20 minute walk (we had no car) and there was a Laundromat, a decent food market (the co-op) and quite satisfactory Italian restaurant (pasta pasta) close by. We cooked our own breakfasts and a few suppers--the kitchen is quite adequate. The sea, beach and promenade were simply wonderful. The flat was essentially as advertised but the building in which it is located could have been more tidy and better maintained--a minor issue. The immediate retail environment was a bit down on its heels, but Hastings and better shopping and eating was not far away. Petra is an attentive host--although we did not have any need to contact her during our stay. We traveled with our 13 year old granddaughter who loved the place and much appreciated the internet access as did we. All in all a most satisfactory stay. We recommend Petra and her property!
Thank you Church. Glad to hear all worked well for you. It was unfortunate that builders were there during your stay, who left their traces inside the hall and I am glad it was not a major issue for you. The inside of the building will be renovated soon so hopefully this part will also be more welcoming when you come again. Best wishes and regards. Petra

"A lovely, peaceful and elegant apartment!"
After being warmly greeted on arrival by Petra, we were taken to a lovely, comfortable and elegant apartment. Beautiful flowers and a bottle of wine were waiting for us on the table by the window from where we had a lovely view to the sea. We felt immediately at home due to the light and bright interior. We stayed for ten days and really enjoyed every minute of it. There is so much to discover in the area around Hastings and beyond. We would definitely recommend this apartment to others. Two ladies from the Netherlands.
Thank you ladies. It was a pleasure having you as my guests and I would love to welcome you back anytime. Warm regards. Petra

"Beautifully furnished and with a wonderful sea view."
This apartment is just as in the photographs. Everything is finished to a very high standard and the sea is just across the road. It is convenient to lots of activities and Hastings is just along the promenade. We had a great holiday and will definitely be returning.
Thank you for your lovely review and I am glad you found the actual experience as pleasing as the pictures you saw initially. Would be delighted to welcome you back! Don't forget there's a 10% discount for returning guests. Thank you for coming, it was a delight to meet you!

"A beautiful apartment overlooking the sea"
When we arrived we were greeted by Petra, the owner of the apartment, who showed us around and informed of us of all amenities, she also left us a bottle of Cava and chocolates; which we thought were a lovely touch. My Mother and I were impressed with the cleanliness and size of the apartment and the personal touches which made our stay very comfortable. The amazing position in St Leonards just across the road from the sea was excellent and a stroll along the promenade into busier Hastings. I will certainly be recommending this break to friends and family!!
Thank you so much for that lovely review and the compliments to my lovely cleaning team, I am blessed to have them. I enjoyed meeting you both and I would be delighted to welcome you again any time! Remember there is a 10% loyalty discount for returning guests! Very best regards. Petra

"If you like an Elegant holiday flat with Character stay at 76 Marina"
There was everything you needed in this holiday home (please note there is no TV though) and the view from the balcony is stunning. There are books, magazines, DVD's, chairs for the beach, a garden, a balcony. There are radiators (but we did not need them). The owner, Petra, provides oodles of candles and evenings were cosy, atmospheric and romantic. There were four of us. Access to the tiered garden was via the 2nd bedroom ( sofa bed which had to be lifted up slightly to allow exit to garden) which meant it was easier just to use the balcony. Better view there anyway. We loved this flat but were slightly disappointed with the condition and variety of shops on the shopping parade. It seemed slightly run-down. However, all that was forgotten once inside the flat. Inside it was luxurious. Only slight negative of the flat - take a spare towel/sheet/ for the bathroom. There is no curtain at the window and the glass is plain. Decor and facility wise, I cannot fault this flat.
Thank you for that thorough review, very helpful. There is no TV as regretfully there is no TV reception on Marina. And I have found most people bring a laptop and one can watch TV via the internet that way. Thanks for the comment about the bathroom window. I will address this imminently. Best regards. Petra

Stayed here for a few days in July 2012. The apartment was right on the seafront and we were lucky to have the Olympic torch pass right past during our stay, which we enjoyed whilst sitting on the balcony enjoying a drink. The apartment is beautiful inside, very elegantly decorated and very romantic with all the candles and chandeliers. It was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The landlady Petra met us on arrival with a amazing bouquet of orchirds and a lovely bottle of Rose, she also gave us lots of great restaurant tips. We tried Pier Nine on her recommendation and it was excellent. Overall a fantastic stay in a wonderful apartment.
I am so glad you enjoyed your short stay despite the initial rain, it was a real pleasure meeting you. Hope to welcome you back again some time, and thank you for being such nice and appreciative guests.
