We provide a welcome pack of breakfast items on arrival. Wifi internet access. Sky and HD TV and sky movies. Selection of DVDs, books, Board games and cards, 2 deck chairs, portable BBQ, picnic basket, hair dryer. Washing machine and dishwasher. Location description from owner

The England region

St Leonards-on-Sea is a great base from which to explore 1066 country, being conveniently located between Hastings and Bexhill-on-Sea, both of which feature a range of interesting attractions. Just inland you will find the historic town of Battle and travelling further afield Rye, Eastbourne, Lewes and Brighton are all easy to reach by car or train.
For art lovers, The Jerwood gallery in Hastings has just opened and the De La Warr gallery in Bexhill is also close with great exhibitions. Both can make a great day out by walking along the beach to reach them. There is also the Towner gallery in Eastbourne and the newly opened art gallery in Margate, a little further afield.

South East England

As mentioned above there is plenty of cultural activity, a vibrant music scene and independent art galleries with regular private views on a friday. There are also plenty of cafes and antique shops (reasonable prices). Fresh fish can be bought from the Stade, provided by our fishermen. Lovely walks in the country parks. Beautiful gardens, kite surfing and sailing for enthusiasts.

For lovers of architecture, Hastings and St. Leonards and the old town has so many grade 11 listed buildings, buildings designed by Decimus and James Burton and last but not least, Marine Court, the art deco building that looks like a ship.

There are also plenty of traditional seaside attractions from crazy golf, pirate caves, the castle, amusements, funfairs, ice cream, fresh fish & chips and perhaps some of the most interesting festivals all year round. Fat tuesday (jazz), beatles day, May Day, Old Town Week, Pirate Day, the sea food and wine festival, america ground celebrations, carnivals, and bonfire night processions.

“Sehr schöne Ferienwohnung”

Reviewed 27 May 2013

“A cosy studio by the sea”

Reviewed 23 Mar 2013

I stayed at Stone's Throw for a week last year (it's taken me nearly a year to write the review) but I can remember my stay very well, which is always a good sign of a pleasant week! I had a lovely week pottering about in St Leonards, checking out the area. The flat was just lovely. It had everything you ever need - all mod cons and more. Beautifully furnished and the under floor heating in the shower room was a real treat. On nice days it was lovely to have breakfast outside - the lower ground aspect made it feel like a secret hideaway! My hosts were extremely helpful and made me feel at home. Great for a calm, relaxing time away from home.

Thank you for making the effort to still write a review even though its a year later! We really appreciate it.

“Perfect flat, perfect owners, perfect location”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2012

Arriving at st Leonards warrior square railway station we gave the owners a call, telling them that we were about to be there in 10 minutes and were offered to be picked up at the station by them! We had already called for a taxi but this shows how courteous the owners were. And this lasted for the whole holiday. After arriving at the flat we were given a warm welcome by Tina and Berry and we were pleasantly surprised by the excellent condition the flat was in. They had prepared a welcome package consisting of cookies, bread, something to drink, butter, eggs etc. everything you needed for the first days was there. Including even things like salt, pepper and everything you could possibly need. This is surely no normal thing for holiday cottages with self-service. Everything was extremely clean and inviting and the owners were very helpful and supportive no matter what it was about. It is located directly opposite of the sea - a 1 minute walk will make you feel relaxed all the way. Although one of the main streets is right next to the flat you can enjoy complete silence inside the flat as the traffic is not to be heard inside. Only 10 minutes by foot away you find little shops, pubs and restaurants. There is also a bus station "athlone court" which is only a 2 minutes walk away. From there you can get to the town centre of Hastings easily. The flat has everything you need and additionally tv with sky; suitable for rainy days or lazy evenings. Overall: if you want to go somewhere and still feel like you've just arrived at home just choose stone's throw and you will be fine and won't regret your choice. We would love to return as soon as we can. Tina and Berry, thank you for Everything! You made our holiday as comfortable and perfect as it was!

Thank you for such a comprehensive review. We are delighted you loved it. We always try to do whatever we can to help make our guests happy. It gives us pleasure.

“Superior holiday apartment”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2012

A beautifully decorated, furnished and equiped holiday apartment with everything required for a comfortable break. Exceptional attention to detail by the owners providing lots of information of the area and the best welcome pack of food we have experienced. We wished we had booked two weeks we enjoyed it so much!

Thank you, we were delighted to hear that you appreciated everything and had a great time. It was lovely to chat with you as well, hope to see you again soon.

“Beautifully elegant, charmingly sophisticated!”

Reviewed 23 Apr 2012

Upon arrival of Stone's Throw, Tina and Barry (owners) were very helpful, and happy, assisting in any questions we had regarding the area, they were able to inform us of local tourist hot spots and had also comprised a folder together of all relevant information a tourist would need to help make their stay enjoyable. The Studio was fabulous! Beautifully decorated and wonderfully homely, the attention to detail was impeccable and incredibly clean. The fridge was complete with local fresh bacon, eggs, butter, milk and OJ. And on the side Museli, Hot Cross buns (being easter) and tea bags. The cupboards had the essentials needed to create a very easy stay, and the modern kitchen provided the necessaties to make it a true home from home. Washing up liquid and cleaning products also avaliable aiding in keeping the gorgeously sweet home spick and span of any mess we may have created. Clean linen and towels were provided, and there was enough towels to keep us going for a week, and we were there only for 2 nights! It was the perfect holiday get away for what we needed it for! Stone's Throw is a delicately modern, fabulousy furnished, and a delectable delight to stay in! Hastings is a beautiful town, and staying in such a wonderful place made the town even better! Plenty to see and do, and with the sea just over the road, a perfect beach retreat. And if the weather is cold and blowy and the outside doesn't seem like such a welcoming idea, the cosy 'love seats' make perfect for couples to snuggle up, watch a movie and chill out on! A MUST for all romantics out there, or anyone wanting a little sweet retreat!

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are so glad you both enjoyed yourselves, you were our first guests, so we are delighted it was a success. We look forward to seeing you again and there will always be a special welcome for you both.
