Description from owner

Description

The Nest is located in a quiet Cul de sac in the heart of St Just, the newly built annex-apartment of a rustic, detached barn conversion (The Barn). The historical centre, including all amenities and local pubs, are within a five-minute walk, and less than 3km away the rugged beauty of the Penwith Heritage Coastline is beneath you. Here you will enjoy breathtaking walks along Cornish cliffs, explore the secluded coves of Cot Valley and its mystical Porth Nanven, the majestic setting of Cape Cornwall and discover the secrets this unforgettable coastline has to offer which stretch as far as your feet will take you.

Cape Cornwall Golf and Leisure Centre is less than 2km from the The Nest, the beautiful Sennen Cove with its half-a-mile of golden beach (and popular surfing destination) is only 7.5km away, and the historical port and market town of Penzance within 12km. For those seeking the adventure of island life, the stunning archipelago of the Isles of Scilly is accessible by regular Skybus from Land's End airport, only 3.2km from your accommodation.

The newly-fitted kitchen includes all necessary self-service appliances (cooker, refrigerator, toaster, kettle) and opens into a dining/living area furnished with a new sofa-bed, dining and coffee tables and wall-mounted television with DVD player. WIFI with unlimited usage is also included. The bedroom includes a double bed, large storage cupboard with hanging space (where is also located a coin meter for electricity - a modest balance will be provided upon arrival), and a separate WC. The separate wet-room, with fitted with shower and heated towel-rail, is accessible from the living area. The local St Just Laundrette is also available 7 days a week, 7am - 8pm. Off-street parking outside the property is provided for your convenience.

Although the garden area and private driveway are still incomplete (due to be available next season), the patio doors of The Nest do open onto a modest walk-through with a garden table and chairs. Here you can enjoy morning breakfast or an afternoon drink in the quiet retreat of South Place Gardens.

The Nest is a non-smoking property. An ashtray is provided with the outside table-set for smokers.

Please note that The Nest accommodates two adults in a private bedroom with a double bed, with the third sleeping option being a spacious sofa bed for one person (description reads sofa bed 'sleeps 2' as this is the only option the website provides, however please note that the letting is for a maximum occupancy of 3 people) . The extra bedding is provided free of charge.

“Tried and tested”

Reviewed 24 Aug 2018

Just got back from this delightful little 1 bed which is an extension on the side if the owners house. Hardly a couple years old this place was clean and tidy with all the kitchen equipment toaster kettle microwave electric hob/oven fridge (no freezer) all in really good condition. Walk in shower room, table and four chairs and a little outside drive which was used as a seating area with pretty shrubs all around. We really didn't get on with the small double bed which had a poor quality mattress laid on to it. It did not give any of us a quality sleep as it sank down and did not support us.Two adults would have been stressful in this smallest of double beds. We used the sofa bed which was even worse, this was seriously going to keep you awake and give you a bad back which it did. I could feel the thick metal frame pushing into where ever you laid. There was three of us and some one always had this sofa bed which is a wrong description. It's small and very uncomfortable,it's like sleeping on a bed with a bike on it, the owners needed to have tried and tested it before putting it in the room. On holiday you want to wake up from a good night's sleep, which we never did. A good hot shower was always needed to get us moving. We used the electric heaters one chilly night but they did not really heat the small room up as they didn't give off enough heat, in real winter this could be a problem for some. There is joining door next to the sofa to the owners house which has private written on it and was kept locked. I think this is a little odd and you some times feel that the owner could walk in any time which they didn't. They were very polite and helpful though and even provided a brand new hairdryer as one was missing. Good location and great for seeing and staying in the quieter side of cornwall to see some much loved picture postcard scenery. St Just had all the qaulity amenities we needed and more.

“A perfect place to stay”

Reviewed 8 Oct 2017

The Nest is small but was perfect for our stay. It is immaculate and clean. I enjoyed cooking in the kitchen which has everything you could possibly want. I slept really well after long coastal walks, beautiful scenery all around. The bathroom is small with a separate shower room. Clothes storage is limited, you would struggle if you wanted to take your best ball gown but for our needs, mainly walking clothes and casual jeans and shirts for evenings it was not a problem. A hall stand or rail for outdoor clothing would be useful, we put ours over the chair backs but we sometimes do this at home anyway. I loved staying at the Nest, it was warm, cosy, comfortable, easy to be in and I'm missing it already.
