Description

Upper Wesley's Barn is a beautifully appointed barn conversion 1/2 a mile outside St Just and 10 minutes from the surfing beach of Sennen Cove.Wesley's barn can be rented to sleep eight, but the Upper Barn is completely self contained for 4 people. Ideal for walkers, golfers (golf course only 10 minutes away) and beach holidays, but the area also offers galleries, the cliff top Minack theatre, history and much more.

The property has recently been completely refurbished to the highest standard. All modern facilities, including wood burning stoves, high quality furnishings and free broadband have been provided whilst still retaining the character of a barn with exposed granite walls, original stone lintels and beams. You get your own private garden.

This holiday cottage has been awarded 4* and Gold Award 2015 by the Visit England the official tourist authority.

“Excellent stay in a cosy cottage”

Stayed for a long weekend in this cottage and it was just what we wanted. The location is perfect and you can walk to st just easily which is a lovely little town. A must do is to walk to the cape to watch the sunset, magical. The cottage was cosy and warm and was exactly what we wanted. Would definitely stay again!

Had a great few days stay at the cottage, if you are looking for somewhere to stay in this part of Cornwall I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone, very clean, very tidy and equipped to a very high standard, all the appliances are top quality. The on site owners are discreet but available for advice and assistance. When we visit the area again I will not even bother searching other properties as we will just re-visit this one, why bother looking when this one is so good. Good local villages, good pubs and so close to great walks on the coastal path.

I've used this place as a base for a walking and cycling holiday on several occasions. You can do numerous walks straight from your doorstep and it's also handy for local buses, the open-top double decker 300 service will stop right outside for you during April to Sept. The standard of accommodation is very high and makes for a very comfortable base for a holiday. The open-plan kitchen, dining & lounge area is very spacious and a nice place to spend a few hours relaxing should the weather take a turn for the worse. It is located about 15 mins walk from the centre of St Just where there is a selection of good pubs and probably less than a 30 min walk to the beautiful cove at Porth Nanven

This was my first trip to Cornwall and I have to say that it exceeded all expectations. The Upper Barn was a lovely place to spend the week - modern but characterful with all mod-cons and anything a holidaymaker would want. The rooms and fittings were all immaculate. The owners Steve and Julia made us very welcome and helped with advice on visiting local sights. The cottage is handily placed for the local bus to St Ives, Penzance and Lands End but they can also be reached by bike (bikes available for residents' use) although you need to be prepared to go up and down a few hills! We walked the totally stunning coastal path from Zennor to St Ives. Also unmissable is the open mic session at the Ship Inn in St Just - sup a few real ales while watching singers ranging from the sublime to the truly ridiculous. All in all - a fantastic place to stay and visit.

We stayed for a week in the Upper Barn in August. Have been to cornwall many times, staying in a variety of accommodation types. I have to say, this was one of the best! Steve and Julia were relaxed, welcoming hosts and made our stay really enjoyable. The barn is of an excellent standard and well positioned for a superb rural retreat. Its position offers really easy access to both north and south coasts, and plenty of excellent beaches. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to go back soon if we can.

First of all, I´d like to point out the gentleness and the helpfulness of the hosts Julia and Steve. They live in the main house nearby the barn and if you need something or have any problem they will be there to help. The upper barn is equiped with everything you need to have a great holiday; an overcompleted kitchen, two single bedrooms, one with kingsize bed the other one with two single beds which also easily can be put together to a large bed, a modern bathroom and a spacious open plan living/dining room with danish oven. Everything is very clean and tidy and it is very calm. The appendant garden is situated to the west which means sun until the late afternoon. An old cot behind the garden is equipped with tabletennis and several other in- and outdoor games for children and grown-ups for inbetween leisure. The barn is perfectly located for great discoveries. Public footpaths lead to St. Just and to the coastline and -trail and they can be the start for long walks or hiking across the landscape . A short drive to the sandy beach of Sennen Cove wich is one of the leading surfspots. Whatever you want to visit or want to do (Penzance, St. Ives, Falmouth, St. Mawes, Eden Project etc.) at the end of the day a warm and cosy cottage welcomes and gives you the feeling like coming back home. Highly recommended to everyone up to 4 persons regardless of how you want to spend your holiday in Cornwall.
