Location description from manager

The Brittany region

Brittany is one of France's favourite visitor destinations, offering superb sandy beaches, unspoilt countryside, traditional country towns and some superbly preserved historic monuments. The region is firmly French but running through daily life is a strong Celtic heritage, with traditional Breton festivals and events taking place throughout the year.

The North coast of the Côtes D'Armor is a long coastline of sandy beaches, dramatic headlands, secluded coves and a string of traditional seaside towns and villages. Inland the countryside is gently hilly with a network of footpaths, miles of uncrowded lanes and pretty towns and villages to explore. The seaside citadel town of St Malo, medieval Dinan and the impressive Mont St Michel all well worth visiting. Paris is within easy reach by high speed train, tickets booked in advance can be very good value.

Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer

St Jacut is situated on a peninsula with 11 safe sandy beaches to explore. As well as swimming in the clean waters rockpooling and fishing, a sailing school is close by as well as a diving school . Kayak hire is also available. The area is ideal for cycling, or walking along the coastal footpath which runs directly outside the front of the house. Close by is the ruined Chateau Guildo and the peaceful Arguenon river valley. The popular resorts of Dinard, St Briac and St Lunaire are very close. A little further is the walled port of St Malo ,the medieval town of Dinan and the world heritage site of Mont St. Michel.
There is a good number of excellent golf courses a short drive away from the house, including Dinard (founded in 1887), St Malo, Pen Guen (St Cast) and Sables D'Or at Cap Frehel. Perhaps the best course is located at Pléneuf Val André, which should be on every golfers 'must play' list.

“Perfect for watching the sun go down”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2015

The location of the apartment is fantastic, on the first night we watched a seal playing in the bay by the footpath. Make sure you have a timetable of the tides to make the most of swimming on the local beaches. The flat was clean, quiet and tidy, the booking process and communication great. Local restaurants and bars are sparse but ok.No problems parking anywhere. Lovely walks around the peninsula and a vibrant market on a Friday. St Malo and Dinard a good day out and surprisingly lovely beaches.

Thank you very much for posting a review of your holiday in St Jacut, and we're very pleased you enjoyed the apartment and the location. We think St Jacut is a good choice for a quieter family seaside holiday, but, as you say, the larger seaside towns of Dinard and St Malo are close by and have lots of good restaurants and more great beaches to enjoy. Thank you again for booking, Jeremy

“Wonderful location with a spotlessly clean apartment”

Reviewed 8 Jul 2015

I would like to keep this place secret but that wouldn't be fair to really nice owner. St Jacut is perfect for quiet family holidays. Beautiflul beaches, good local bars and restaurants but close enough to larger resorts for nights out. If you want the real France this is the real deal. The apartment is functional rather than luxurious but has all facilities including the recent addition of wifi. It is always presented in immaculate condition.. There are numerous local walks and photo spots. We were very lucky to spot these kestrels in a nearby ruins.

Many thanks for taking the time to post a review - it is much appreciated. We're very glad you enjoyed your stay in St Jacut de la Mer , and liked the appartment. We like to visit the village ourselves , and appreciate the beaches to swim from , to walk the coastal footpath or just to watch the sun go down. We thought free WIFI internet is now pretty essential for guests, and put it in 2015 , so we're glad you used it! We hope to see you again soon, thanks again for booking, Jeremy

“Great property in a lovely location”

Reviewed 16 Aug 2013

Well equipped & well presented light & spacious holiday home in a delightful location right next to the beach. Enough facilities in the village not to have to use the car every day. Watching the sun setting per the sea from the apartment was beautiful. Would definitely use again.

“A lovely clean apartment in great location, we had a nice time here.”

Apartment La Terrasse is in a quiet location overlooking the estuary with beaches and walks close by. The apartment is clean and modern with all the facilities we needed. We would like to visit again when we go back to Brittany.

“Fantastic apartment in excellent location”

Reviewed 9 Aug 2012

Apartement Le Triskel was everything we expected and more. Having stayed in a number of French holiday homes the photos often are better than the place, however in this case the reverse was true. The apartment was modern, well equipped and very clean. The view was fantastic and it really was a step from the garden onto the coastal path. St Jacut itself was a great place- very quiet, but with lovely beaches all around. The tide does go out very far though so it is well worth knowing when high tide is so that you can pick the best time for the beach if you like to paddle. There are several places to eat in St Jacut and we tried a good selection, all of which were very good. The nearest town Ploubalay had much more to it, although we didn't really venture over there apart from to the supermarket on occasions. A great area for cycling and we particularly enjoyed parking the car at Pleurtuit and then cycling along the cycle path to Dinard one day and the better route to Dinan, which was great. We will definitely love to come back.
