Description from owner

Description

Seawater is a granite holiday cottage with its own parking space located in beautiful St Ives, Cornwall.

The cottage, which sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms, is tucked away in a quiet street in the town centre and within a few minutes walk of the harbour, beaches and Tate Gallery. The property has undergone extensive renovations and boasts some impressive contemporary touches, yet still retains many of the original features. A rarity to St. Ives, it has its own enclosed courtyard garden which has a Mediterranean feel with decking, seating and outdoor lighting.

The cottage is light and airy yet still manages to be very cosy and invitingly homely. With central heating, old school radiators and a feature log burning gas stove the cottage is equally suitable for winter bookings as it is for the summer.

Seawater is extensively and tastefully equipped. Entertainment wise, there is a DAB/CD/ipod sound system, 50" flat screen digital TV and DVD player with a good selection

Location description from owner

The England region

There is so much to see and do in Cornwall.

Beautiful walks, stunning coastal scenery and quaint fishing villages is enough to attract the most discerning visitor, but there is so much more to Cornwall than this. Visitor attractions include the Eden Project and Tate Gallery, plus many attractions and activities for children.

The foodie scene has improved considerably, with Rick Stein and Jamie Oliver leading the way with top quality restaurants in Padstow and Newquay respectively. In St Ives we have the much acclaimed Porthminster Cafe, offering amazing food in an even more amazing setting on the beautiful Porthminster beach. Many more decent cafes and restaurants offer varied cuisine locally, often with amazing views over the beach or harbour.

Whether it is top quality dining, beautiful walks, varied galleries, amazing sunsets or simply the laid back way of life, Cornwall has much to offer everyone.

St Ives

St. Ives often features in any list of top UK holiday destinations. Its climate, unique geography and eclectic mix of museums, art galleries, shops and restaurants means there is something for everyone all year round.

It has five beaches as well as a picturesque fishing harbour, all within walking distance of the cottage.

The beauty of St Ives is that everything is just a short stroll away- the car can stay put all week with so much to do on your doorstep. There is a great array of shops and restaurants in close proximity, yet it is still possible to lose yourself within the maze of narrow cobbled streets.

With the beautiful natural light you can see for yourself why some many artists have worked here. There are many art galleries as well as the famous Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth museum.

The cottage is tucked away in a quiet street in the town centre and within a few minutes walk of all that St Ives has to offer.

“Perfectly Presented Cottage”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2015

This is a small cottage which has been very well renovated, lovely decor and every facility you could need. The stairs are probably a little awkward for older people who may be not so sure on their feet - but this is pretty standard with old cottages such as this one. Strongly recommend for a family or a quiet retreat for two such as our trip.

Owner's reply: Thanks Graham for taking the time to write a review of your stay at Seawater, we're very pleased that you enjoyed it. We are always very honest about the stairs being a little steep for the elderly, infirm or very young so I'm happy for this to be pointed out. The last thing we would want is for a guest to feel uncomfortable in the house. Hopefully see you again one day. Alan

“An amazing house - we had a wonderful holiday at Seawater.”

Reviewed 12 Aug 2015

Seawater had everything one could possibly want for a holiday in St Ives. The hosts left a detailed manual providing all the information one needed in relation to the property. The location is perfect. The property is extremely well maintained and clean.

Owner's reply: Thanks Grainne for taking the time to do a review. We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay, and hopefully we will see you in St Ives again one day. Alan & Sharon
