The England region

For day trips around beautiful cornwall you are spoilt for choice. From the Eden Project to the brilliant, award winning National Maritime Museum (and a sneaky trip to Rick Stein's fish and chips opposite). Or Lands End for a cheesy photo with the signpost pointing to America, or the enchanting St Michael's Mount is only 10 minutes drive away. If you're here for a bit longer you could even do a day trip to the amazing Scilly Isles (the planes leave from nearby - a real adveture!) and there are many more which we can help you with.

St Ives

St Ives is famous around the world for it's amazing beauty and special light, hence the number of artists and writers that have always been drawn here. Not only that but St Ives benefits from the warmth of the gulf stream giving it a mild sub tropical climate. It won best 'seaside holiday destination' in 2012 for 3rd year running, and indeed came 6th in best beach locations in Europe last year! Porthminster Beach (just in front of the house) has just come 3rd in best uk beaches in the Travellers Choice Awards. For the holiday maker it has the best of all worlds - surrounded by 3 beautiful blue flag beaches, but also a lively thriving town, with loads going on for all ages - whatever the weather! Whilst still retaining the charm of a working fishing village with boats bobbing in the harbour and windy cobbled streets, it also offers independent shops, cafes, artists studios, and many fine restaurants; even a lovely local cinema!Go on a boat trip to seal island, visit Tate St Ives, the Leach Pottery or Barbara Hepworth Museum, go for a surf or a paddle board, walk along the coast path and get the beautiful branch line back, go crabbing and maybe see the seals and dolphins that regularly visit, or simply lounge on the golden sand and build sand castles!Even out of season St Ives is buzzing. The St Ives Food Festival takes place on the beach just in front of the house with loads of local produce and cookery demos etc. The 'St Ives September Festival' now attracts visitors from around the world and New Year is famous for the amazing fancy dress and fireworks on the beach. If activities are your thing there are surf lessons or kayaking and paddle boarding on the beach, or for something more hardcore there are plenty of adrenalin sports organised by our friend Jules at 'JB adventures' from kite surfing to mountain biking. There is also the beautiful South West Coast Path which passes 50 metres from the front door. Boutique Beach House is ideally placed for all these things and once here you can easily walk anywhere in St Ives. We will give you a book full of our recommendations and insider tips on everything from restaurants and beaches to things to do come rain or shine. We can advise you on the most suitable restaurants - maybe an award winning burger with the kids at Blas, or an adult night out at the 3 time winner of the Michelin 'Bib Gourmand Award', or dinner on the beach in one or our 3 award winning beach cafes. We can also help you with babysitters and shopping etc

“Happy family holiday in a great house in a top location”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2015

We had a very happy week at the Boutique Beach House in St. Ives. We loved the house and all its little details. We also enjoyed its big details like the pool, the barbecue and the views! Breakfast and dinner took place often on the terrace, and the outdoor shower has been used a lot thanks to the great run of sunny weather and beach action we had! We were sad to leave after what was a very special birthday celebration for our Granny

“Faultless”

For our large family gathering the accommodation was superb and the owners were unfailingly helpful in meeting all our requests. The house was very clean, well furnished, and extremely user-friendly. We had a wonderful week and I would be very happy to visit this property again.

Great house, great location. The hosts (Jo & Matt) were very helpful and welcoming - both before and during our stay. Highlights include the views from the front of the house and the pool - which is a great way to end a busy day on the beach!

“Excellent choice”

This was a beautiful house in a great location. It was large enough for 6 adults and 3 children to comfortably spread out yet get together when wanted. Everything was catered for, the owners are obviously very sensitive to their guests needs and I thank them for that. The location was perfect a lovely walk down into the town and the beach virtually on our doorstep. Would love to come again and highly recommend.

“the most perfect week in the most perfect house”

Reviewed 18 Jun 2014

I stayed at the beach house with my husband, three children, my parents and my parents in law. From the moment we arrived everything was utterly perfect. The house is vast and beautiful. The swimming pool, (we paid a little extra to have heated) was fabulous. The location was to die for.... I couldn't recommend this house enough - a perfect holiday that will never be forgotten.

Thanks for taking the time to review the beach house. We're so glad you had a good time. I just wanted to clarify for future guests that the pool is heated to pleasant 28, but we can make it a few degrees hotter for a small price if, like me, you're a bit more sensitive! Thanks again. all the best Jo and Matt

“Perfect place to kick back relax with everything within perfect distance from the front door”

Great stay over the eater weekend. The weather was hit and miss so we actually spent a fair amount of time in the house which was lovely. Living room gorgeous for relaxing by the fire. When it was nice we say in the patio player a bit of table tennis bbq's with wine and enjoyed the sea views. The standalone bath was a pleasant treat and beach just a stone throws away has as clear blue water as some off the coast of France! All in all a great stay

“Perfect For A Family Break”

Reviewed 23 Mar 2014

10 of us spent a long weekend at Boutique Beach House and found it perfect for our needs. We have stayed at a number of large properties in St Ives in previous years and while they have all been good this was undoubtedly the best. The property is conveniently located for beach and town and has the space to comfortably cope with 10 adults (or even 10 adults and a couple of babies in cots). The kitchen area is large with the full range of appliances and there are 2 other rooms in which to chill out, watching TV or playing games. The garden is also huge with a children,s play house and a decent sized swimming pool (we knew this wouldn't be open during our visit). What really makes this place is the attention to detail shown by the owners. Little things like providing a plastic plate, bowl and cup to go with the high chair. Without being intrusive Jo remained in touch throughout our stay checking that things were ok and, of course, provided a cream tea for our arrival. It doesn't come cheap hiring houses of this size but what we got for our money was good value and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this house for larger groups.

“Amazing!”

We have a 2yr old girl and I wanted to take her to Cornwall for the first time - it was unforgettable. The house is just gorgeous. We really felt at home. Everything was perfect. Jo and Matt are very thoughtful - the welcome pack was to die for. The guest book has instructions for everything and plenty of tips of where to go and what to do. The beds were super comfy. If you are sleeping in the master bedroom which faces the main road, take ear plugs. I live somewhere so quiet I am no longer used to road noise! My little one totally loved the kids' bedroom (as the whole house) and the toys available in the Garden. We had BBQs for lunch and dinner everyday and really enjoyed the pool. In fact I cooked at home at lot and I found the kitchen excellent - well equipped with utensils and everything of good quality. There is a tesco nearby but I ordered shopping so be delivered the day we arrived. The joys of being a modern woman :) Because our daughter still sleeps for 2hrs in the day, we would put her to bed and take the baby monitor to the pool which still worked fine. She also goes to bed quite early in the evening so we would put her to bed and enjoy some wine and snuggle up to a movie in the TV room. Although they have a small dvd library, it's worth taking your own. We also took our own portable ipod player to take up to the pool and garden. The location couldn't be any better! You only have to cross the road to go to the beach - again very handy if you have small children. We used to walk to town for an ice cream and a little wonder every afternoon. St Ives has to be the most gorgeous place I have ever visited. I fell in love with it. We also managed to fit a few car journeys and ventured into Lands end and visited a few beaches in the vicinity. Thank you so much Jo for the beautiful welcome pack, for Maria's present and for providing such a gorgeous home so lucky people like us can enjoy memories we will treasure forever. I wish you every bit of success for you and your family. x
