22 St Ives is situated at 22 The Terrace in St Ives. The Terrace is renowned for having some of the best views in St Ives. Terrazzo is on the first and second floors of this grand Georgian house and has the most stunning views overlooking the beach and St Ives bay.
Just a short walk from Terrazzo in one direction will take you to the beach where you can have bacon butties and a cappucino for breakfast, or - if you're splashing out - lunch or dinner at the amazing Porthminster Beach Cafe which is a little further along the beach. A short walk from the apartment in the other direction and you're down by the harbour and in the bustle of the town. Further along again is the local's favourite - the small but perfectly formed Porthgwidden beach and the larger, surfing beach - Porthmeor.
St Ives is renowned for its incredible atmosphere: the art galleries (including The Tate Gallery), the cobbled streets, the quirky shops and the award winning restaurants such as The Porthminster Beach Cafe. The glorious Cornish Coastal Path passes in front of 22 The Terrace and the little branch train can be seen from the windows as it winds around the cliffs and terminates at Porthminster Beach.
Although Terrazzo has a parking space a car isn't necessary as all the shops, cafes, bars and beaches of St Ives are within easy walking distance.
Terrazzo is recommended in The Sunday Times Travel magazine (March 2015) as a great place to stay in St Ives.

Terrazzo's accommodation is light and airy with two large double bedrooms. There are flat-screen televisions and digital radios in both bedrooms, and a 32" flat-screen television and DVD player in the sitting room. There are twin beds in the second bedroom and should a 5th person wish to stay we can provide a z-bed.
The kitchen is large with white gloss units and a solid iroko worktop. The dining table seats 5. The sitting room has 2 sofas and a rocking chair. People love the rocking chair! From it you can watch the people on the beach below, the boats coming in and out of the harbour, seals, and sometimes even dolphins.
The main bedroom has an ensuite shower room, a king sized double bed and the most amazing views. And another rocking chair! The second bedroom is spacious and has twin beds and plenty of room for a z-bed should a 5th person be staying.
There is free WI-Fi at the property.
Saturday changeovers (though can be flexible in low season). Visitors can arrive any time after 4pm and must vacate by 10am.
25% deposit secures the booking with the balance due 8 weeks before the holiday.
Short breaks available from end of October to the beginning of May.
One small dog is very welcome in Terrazzo. You will be asked to sign a doggy contract and there is a £15 charge.
The Cornwall region
Cornwall is one of the most beautiful counties in England. It is famed for its hundreds of beaches - many of them quiet and secluded, even in August - and its mining stacks from the tin and copper mining days of the 18th and 19th centuries.
Some of my favourite places in Cornwall are Helford (especially the Shipwright Arms), Kynance Cove (brilliant cream teas - stunning beach), Cape Cornwall (wild and wonderful), the creeks around the Fal. I could go on forever but it would be a bit boring. Fantastic places to eat are of course Rick Stein's in Padstow, Ben's Cornish Kitchen in Marazion, Oliver's in Falmouth (my particular favourite) and the Porthminster Beach Cafe in St Ives (actually St Ives has loads of really good places to eat).
One of my favourite days out is to catch the little train from St Ives to Lelant (surely one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world) and walk back along the coastal path. Stunning scenery all the way. A large jug of Pimms on the beach finishes it off just nicely.
St Ives is one of the most beautiful towns in Cornwall. It has something for everyone: quirky shops, The Tate Gallery, many other art galleries, the fabulous Barbara Hepworth museum, the Leach Pottery, golf nearby, fabulous restaurants and four glorious beaches all within walking distance of 22 The Terrace.
From St Ives you can explore Cape Cornwall, Penzance, St Michael's Mount, Porthleven - there really is so much to see and explore.
The St Ives Food Festival in May and the Arts Festival in September are unmissable and the town has a buzzy atmosphere even in winter. In fact winter is the best time to be here in my opinion!
As soon as I hear the wind pick up I go storm watching. Trying to walk round the bend by the Island (between Porthgwidden and Porthmeor beach) is better than a roller coaster at Alton Towers when it's really windy. Sometimes it's actually impossible to get through the gap. I love it. One minute you're shopping, the next minute you round the bend and the waves are crashing onto the sand. There's nowhere else quite like it.

"Perfect location for a New Year get away"
We rented Terrazzo over the new year period with another couple and their little boy. It is a perfect location- a very short walk to the beach and the centre of St Ives. The 2 floor apartment is equipped with everything you would have at home and having two bathrooms meant we could all shower and get ready in no time. It was everything we could have wished for and more- perfect views, enough space not to feel cramped and a fully equipped kitchen to cook meals to please ourselves. We had a wonderful, relaxed stay and will most definitely be staying again!
