The Cornwall region
Treloyhan is a stunning area of St Ives. Originally designed by Sir Edward Hain who built Treloyhan Manor in the late 1890's and planted a huge garden with rare and exotic plants. The Monteray Pines are particular feature of this warm wet area. As building plots were sold off the Treloyhan estate put restrictive covenants on each plot to ensure that everyone had the best sea view and quality of light possible. Birdsong was built in 1963 and is upside down, with bedrooms on the ground floor and set into the hillside. The treetops feel of the house is repeated within Treloyhan, there is a large variety of wildlife from Badgers to owls and bats. You can walk to a large superstore, numerous fabulous restaurants, Tregenna Castle which has a swimming pool, golf course and tennis courts and of course the ward winning blue flag beaches of St Ives, Carbis Bay, Hawkes Point and Lelant.
Birdsong is ideally located to catch the train to Penzance or further afield, or the open top bus to Zennor and walk home, or get in the car and visit some of the amazing National Trust gardens. There are fishing boats to hire, galleries to visit, hidden coves to discover or just stop, stand still ad take in the roar and might of the Atlantic ocean.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Birdsong for a long weekend break. We left London looking for some rest and relaxation. Birdsong was perfect. It is a large detached house with breathtaking views. Even though it was February we lay in the Cornish sunshine drinking coffee, ate at the multitude of fantastic restaurants in St. Ives and went for long hikes over beaches and around headlands. On Sunday morning we woke up to a stunning sunrise that we could watch without even needing to get out of bed. It was the perfect mini break, I could never get bored of that view. Will bring our friends and family with us next time. Thank you for letting us share your family home.

"The most Beautiful Setting"
Birdsong lived up to all expectations. A two storey spacious house with stunning views from the balcony and patio over the Bay. Very clean and well kept. Everything supplied for total self catering and Tesco superstore a very short walk away. The table football, snooker and table tennis were a big hit with us in the evening when it got a bit chilly, great fun. Walk to the bottom of the garden and follow the scenic coastal path to St Ives. As you leave the path you enter one of the Cafe's leading onto the sea front, great for a coffee or snack before heading into the town centre. Saturday when we went was very quiet and a joy to meander, later in the week it was very busy. The gorgeous beach is a short walk in the other direction and the coastal path then continues for miles, (for the serious walker) quite narrow and very hilly. There is plenty to do and see in Cornwall and nothing is too far away from your base. We had dinner at the Watermill Inn a 10 minute drive away and the food was excellent. The car park is very small and you may have to park elsewhere or wait for a space. would also recommend booking because it is so popular. They allow dogs as well. Highly recommend this Inn for a meal out. Also Becks Fish and Chip restaurant just a short drive away was most welcome on arrival. We had to wait for the takeaway, but didn't know you can order in advance. Worth doing if you are not going to eat in the restaurant. I'm so glad we chose Birdsong it could not have been better for our family holiday.

"Excellent accommodation with beautiful views"
Birdsong is a lovely house in a wonderful position. I booked this house for a family holiday. The views are what it is worth booking this accommodation for. Waking up and sitting out on the balcony overlooking the ocean is the perfect way to start each day. The house itself is open plan, spacious and well equipped and in easy walking distance to either St Ives town or Carbis bay beach. I would highly recommend this accommodation for a family holiday. We had great weather as well which is always a bonus in the UK!
