Apartment 1 has air-conditioning in one of the two bedrooms, but please note that the a/c is charged EXTRA according to usage. This bedroom also has an en suite bathroom/shower-room. There is a separate small bathroom, again with shower, w/c and washbasin.

The wonderful town centre of St George's is five minutes walk, with the beautiful Port Louis Marina being only a little further and the stunning Grand Anse beach being a ten minute drive or bus ride (or even boat ride!) away. The apartments are only a couple of minutes walking distance from the Osprey boarding point for Caricou. Hiring a car is only necessary if you wish to explore the island without a guide, but there is easy parking right outside if you choose to have a car.

The apartments are 15 minutes from the international airport and are very near to the golf course. Our driver would be pleased to provide personal transportation to and from the airport - please contact us to arrange your airport pickup. We can also recommend a car rental company.

N.B. A reduced rate applies for one or two person occupancy (use of ONE bedroom only). For two persons wanting both rooms please enter occupancy as three.

Location description from owner

The Grenada region

GEOGRAPHY

Grenada is a three island state consisting of the islands of Grenada, Carriacou, and Petit Martinique.Grenada is the largest of the three islands, with a width of twelve miles (18 km) and a length of twenty-one miles (34 km). The total area is 133 square miles. The highest point is Mount Saint Catherine (840m).

LOCATION

The three islands of Grenada are located in the Eastern Caribbean at the southern extremity of the Windward Islands, only 100 miles north of Venezuela. To the north lie St. Vincent and the Grenadines; to the south Trinidad and Tobago. Grenada is a wonderful place for anybody wanting to experience warm weather, blue sea, white sands and good food.

The local people are very helpful, tourism being Grenada's main source of foreign exchange since the construction of an international airport in 1985. Agriculture is the nation's next most important industry. Grenada is frequently called the Spice Island, and some of its exports include cinnamon, cloves, ginger, mace, cocoa, and of course nutmeg. The economy has shifted more towards tourism in recent years.

CLIMATE

Average temperatures range from 24C/ 75F to 30C/ 87F, tempered by the steady and cooling trade winds. The lowest temperatures occur between November and February. Because of Grenada's remarkable topography, the island also experiences climate changes according to altitude. The driest season is between January and May. Even during the rainy season, from June to December, it rarely rains for more than an hour at a time and generally not every day.

St. George's

St George's is acknowledged to be one of the most picturesque towns in the Caribbean. It's a fabulous place to explore on foot, from handsome old buildings in the town to the the Carenage harbour. Many interesting shops and cafes dot the narrow and busy streets.

A scenic inlet, the Carenage is a great place for a stroll along the water's edge, taking in the colourful fishing boats and the bustle of supplies being loaded onto larger boats and destined for other islands. At the north end of the harbour, the original Georgian buildings overlooking the water - including the red-brick National Library - have been charmingly restored.

Fort George, the centrepiece of the St George's skyline, is Grenada's oldest fort and was established by the French in 1705. You can explore the dark tunnels and climb to the top to see the cannons and impressive views.

From the nearby Grenada National Museum, Monckton St leads to the Sendall Tunnel, a narrow 340-foot passageway that burrows through the hill to reach Bruce St and the rest of St George's. It was built by former governor Sir Walter Sendall as an alternative to the steep, slippery (and then unpaved) Young St, which had been the principal route between the Carenage and St George's proper. Cars and pedestrians use it today and when walking you are advised to stick to the west side of the tunnel.

One of the many religious sites in the town is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Sitting which sits prettily at the top of the capital's hill, and provides a great vantage point over the town. Although in 2004 Hurricane Ivan all but gutted the structure, it has since been painstakingly restored.
