Description

The Beehouse is a beautifully presented three bedroom holiday house located just a short drive from the historic burgh of St Andrews, famous for its world class golf courses and stunning beaches. The property forms part of a recently converted steading building adjacent to the owners' home; with three double bedrooms (one downstairs) and three bathrooms it is ideal for families, golfers and couples alike. The house was completed in August 2012 and retains many original features including a quirky backdrop to the woodburning stove in the living room; recessed stone 'beeboles' where old-fashioned straw beehives were over-wintered. The Beehouse enjoys breathtaking south-facing views across arable farmland and woodland and is in a very peaceful private location. There is a patio area accessed from the open plan living/dining/kitchen area and an area of garden for use of guests. Well behaved pets are welcome by arrangement with the owners. **Please contact owner for correct short break holiday rates for 4, 5 &6 nights

“What an amazing place to stay!”

The Beehouse is even more gorgeous and homely in real life than it is in the photographs - so much so that it seemed a real pity to leave to go into St Andrews. It was absolutely perfect for a family get together and has provided us with some great memories of visiting our son.

“A great experience!”

A unique property with a very high level of fixtures, fittings and comfort. Very warm and cosy, luxury bathrooms, large log burner, WIFI, Sky TV with Sky Sports and great views over the surrounding countryside. Designer interior achieving that country house feel whilst containing all mod cons & appliances so that is was also very contemporary. The property receives great light with many of the rooms being multi aspect. The family owners who live in the main house within the same grounds were very friendly and very helpful without intruding in any way. Their two sons made our 8 year old son feel very welcome by playing sports with him in the evening and sharing their sports equipment. Very well situated for St Andrews, the East Neuk coastline, the beautiful Tentsmuir Forrest and Beach, Dundee and also further afield. We had quite a warm sunny week and enjoyed it immensely, taking in the odd sunrise and sunset from the grounds of the property too.

“Biz's Beautiful Beehouse”

I went to the Beehouse in Feb for a weekend with some friends and we had an absolute ball! The Beehouse is set in stunning surroundings - the views are stunning and a walk to the castle is highly recommended. The accommodation is beautiful, everything you could ever need is there, the rooms are very comfortable, the showers were very good and the log fire was wonderful for a winter night.I loved that there are a number of recycling bins available mainly for our numerous empty prosecco bottles! It was 5 star accommodation, perfect for a relaxing weekend away. Not wanting to forget the wonderful owner Biz who made sure we were well looked after! Would definitely recommend and we would love to stay here again.

“Exceeded expectations!”

Treated my parents to a trip to St. Andrews and, after some thorough research into local holiday rentals I opted for The Beehouse. One member of the party has mobility issues so the downstairs bedroom and bathroom were ideal and something I found difficult to achieve in other rentals. It is located in the quiet countryside, only a few minutes drive from St. Andrews and the images online don't do the accommodation justice; a complimentary mix of contemporary and traditional, it is very comfortable and welcoming. The wood burner was a great touch. I would not hesitate to visit again and feel comfortable recommending to friends and family, without a doubt.

“A fantastic house in a beautiful part of Scotland”

Our family (6 adults and a dog) stayed for a week at The Beehouse and loved it. The house itself is situated in a quiet location around 7 miles away from St Andrews, with plenty of local walks which was perfect for us. The owners were friendly and helpful, both before arriving and whilst staying. The house is wonderful with great sized rooms meaning it never once felt cramped. The kitchen is well equipped which meant we cooked in most nights, apart from one meal out at the Peat Inn which is also highly recommended. I'd recommend this accommodation to anyone who enjoys time in beautiful countryside but close St Andrews and other local attractions (Eden Mill distillery was a good visit too). Thanks to Elizabeth and her family for a fantastic stay.

“Excellent, Clean & Spacious Accommodation”

We needed a place for 4 adults and one 11 year old whilst we were visiting St Andrews and this was perfect. The accommodation was very clean, well appointed with all mod cons and very spacious and the surroundings were lovely. Lots of really nice touches like the milk and honey and welcome card. My only gripe was the the TV in the lounge is a little small (!) but other than that the whole experience was brilliant and we will def visit again.

“Beautiful house in stunning rural setting minutes from St. Andrews”

We found The Beehouse to be a beautifully presented, immaculate home with every conceivable luxury for a most comfortable stay. More spacious than we could have imagined from the photographs with three good sized bedrooms and bathrooms. A fabulous laundry room too. The delightful owners could not have been more helpful prior to our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. The Beehouse is a character filled home with lovely features. Spectacular views from all rooms across the local countryside and farmland. It's a quiet sanctuary set in the midst of the country yet just a few minutes from the centre of St. Andrews and easy distance to so many beautiful towns and villages in the area. We stayed a week and wished we had booked for two.

The Beehouse definitely has the wow factor and a highlight of our week in Fife. The house is fully equipped with spacious accommodation. Beautiful views. Situated in a lovely, quiet location but an excellent base for sightseeing.

“Outstanding holiday rental in a beautiful peaceful location - perfect”

Our stay in this cottage was so amazing that I would love to keep it a secret it was that good. We are familiar with Fife as my husband was born in Cupar, the neighbouring village to this property and wanted a peaceful relaxed location which is not far from the beach, attractions and local amenities and the Beehouse fits our requirements perfectly. It is only a short drive to St Andrews where we had a perfect time on the East Sands beach, and also from Craigtoun Park which is brilliant for children of all ages (and a childhood haunt of my husband's. It is also less than an hours drive to Edinburgh where we park up at Ocean Terminal and take the bus into the city. The Beehouse is an amazing cottage, equipped with everything that you could possibly need to make it a home from home. There are stunning views across the countryside, and perfect peace and quiet. The kitchen/dining/lounge area is spacious and comfortable with a patio area right outside the lounge area for outdoor relaxation. The bedrooms are spacious too and we made use of the beds being set up as kingsize which was very useful having this option, or you can opt to have single beds in each room. It was very useful having 3 bathrooms too, perfect for coming back from a visit to the beach and all 3 of our children could have a shower/bath at the same time as each other in each of them. We love this area of Scotland and this year were blessed with very warm and dry weather and will certainly be returning in future years, and we will definitely be wanting to stay at the Beehouse again. Nowhere else will be good enough now after our perfect stay at the Beehouse this year. I can honestly say that in 11 years of staying in cottages in various locations around the UK this is the best self catering accommodation that we have ever rented.
