Description from owner

This pretty Victorian cottage is located on a quiet road in the peaceful Bernards Heath area of St Albans, just 12 minutes walk from both the Thameslink Station and town centre.

There is an open plan living/dining room, modern kitchen and bathroom and two good sized bedrooms with a king size double bed and bunk beds in the second bedroom.

At the rear is a private garden with lawn and decking with table and chairs for 4 people

The Hertfordshire region

The proximity to London, with all it has to do and see, makes it a good base to travel from as it's just 18 minutes by train into Kings Cross St Pancras, making work communiting, sightseeing or catching a West End show very easy.

There are also trains from our other station to Watford where there's abundant shopping.

In the vicinity, are Woburn Abbey and Safari Park, Hatfield House, Knebworth House and Whipsnade Zoo.

St. Albans

St Albans is an old market town in Hertfordshire, around 30 miles north of central London. It dates back to Roman times when it was called Verulamium.

Nowadays, it's has a thriving centre with a range of old buildings. There is the Abbey, clock tower and buildings dating back to Tudor times in the old centre.

There are a good range of shops with supermarkets and many well known high street storage, plus some boutiques or more unusual shops. There's a twice weekly bustling market at which you can find far more than just food and a monthly farmers market where you can buy local produce.

St Albans is known to have more pubs than anywhere else in the UK per person, so there's somewhere for everyone, from the olde worlde traditional pubs, sleek modern bars and practically everything in between. Many of these also do food. Restaurants of all types are found all over town, but many in the centre and most styles of cuisine are catered for, as are most budgets.

The Alban Arena has events from films, to shows to concerts and there are a couple of museums, one about the town and the other about the old Roman town.

There are several parks including the large Verulum park that has some roman remains, along with lots of open space, a playground and summer water park, lake and cafe.

St Albans also has sports facilities including a swimming pool, tennis courts, golf and lovely countryside for walking in.

Very Good

“Lovely property in a lovely spot!”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2013

My family enjoyed a weeks' stay at Boundary Rd in August. The house was exactly as described and met all our needs. We would definitely rent again and both the owner and the house manager were a delight to deal with. My two year old and four year old managed well on the steep staircase, so although it did require a bit of extra supervision it wasn't a major problem for us.
