Very Good

“Trip down memory lane”

Reviewed 6 Jan 2018

We booked Lousarie for a trip down memory & visit friends in nearby Truro, and take Hartley - a border collie - with us. We expected wet & windy whether not sun and Storm Eleanor didn’t disappoint but we did have some dry & sunny times. Importantly Lousarie was cosy, warm & snug, with everything you’d want for a home away from home stay, and if it wasn’t for all the lovely dog friendly pubs in the area a fully fitted kitchen to keep you well fed Lovely walks across the cliff tops, by the coast and by the sea. Perranporth Aerodrome is on your doorstep and doesn’t bother us but they wasn’t any planes so don’t let that put you off and anyway there’s so much to see in Cornwall you’ll be out & about with a lovely warm haven to come back to. Certainly we will & tell our family & friends. Richard, Clare & Hartley

“Brilliant holiday”

Reviewed 31 Aug 2017

The perfect base to explore Cornwall. We stayed here for a week over the summer and managed to see so much of the area. Lots of local pubs and restaurants that are brilliant. The beaches are amazing, the closest one to the house was dog friendly which was perfect. The house was a great space for two and a dog and would definitely recommend!

Owner's reply: Thanks for taking the time to review Lousarie. Glad you enjoyed! Rhian

“Great base to explore the area and comfy to come back to at the end of each day”

Reviewed 27 Jul 2017

Located in a lovely peaceful country lane, but within easy reach of lots of places to visit. Although we travelled by car there are plenty of lovely walks from the doorstep. Lots of different things to keep us both interested - too many for just one week. Some good places to eat not very far away and the cottage has all the amenities needed for time spent in the cottage itself

“Idyllic, tranquil spot.”

Reviewed 10 Jun 2013

Rhian and Jono were extremely accommodating, fitting us in at the last minute. The cottage was clean, comfortable, equipped with all we needed, and very welcoming. We were blessed with perfect weather, when the cottage's best feature, its private suntrap of a courtyard, really came into its own - breakfast, lunch and dinner al fresco, with only birdsong, the odd clip-clop of hooves and the occasional distant hum of an aircraft punctuating the silence. We were there to body board and the cottage is perfectly situated in the midst of a great selection of beaches, but also right by a really interesting stretch of the coastal path, with old tin mines and WWII emplacements, not to mention a plethora of wild flowers. We'll be back!

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your lovely comments - you were so lucky with the weather! Pleased you enjoyed the courtyard - it really is a fab sun trap. Just re-opened the cottage for holiday letting after 4 years - come on back!

“Lovely stay in beautiful surroundings”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2012

We booked this property last minute and were far from disappointed. The owners Rhian & Jono were lovely & very accommodating. If we needed anything they were there on hand as they lived next door but other that they respected our privacy. The area we stayed was near Perranporth was lovely with great shops and restaurants. The location made it so easy to travel by car to St Ives, St Agnes, Padstow, Lands End to name just a few of the places we got to see. The cottage was clean, tidy and cosy with all amenities even wifi access and a nice modern fireplace. The cottage also had its own paved garden with barbecue and Caribbean styled seating area. We loved it so much we will be returning in the new year. Definitely recommended.

Owner's reply: Pleased you enjoyed Lousarie! Just re-opened the cottage for holiday letting after 4 years so come on back when you are ready for a break. Jono

“Life on the Cliff”

Reviewed 22 Sep 2012

If you really want to get away from it all then this superb location will do it. You are only a 5 minute wall frm the cliffs which give for a chance to walk the costal path. The accommodation is of high quality with all you could want, Also with a barbecue in your private courtyard, there is also an undercover area to sit in if the Cornish Mist comes down. We like to walk to a local pub or restaurant which was possible with a stiff 45 minute walk, the only downside for us. Recommend to those wanting to get away from it.

Owner's reply: Thnakjs for your kind words - sounds like you found some decent cornish food and ale! We have just re-opened the cottage to holiday lettings after a 4 year break (long Lett) . It would be great to welcome you again to our part of the world. Jono
