This lovely terraced town house is comfortable and cosy with it's wood burning stove and neutral decor. For convenience there is also a gas fire in the adjoining room. Overlooking beautiful countryside to the front of the property, yet is conveniently on a main bus route, so no need for a car. There is a corner shop approx 200 yards away. Also a small supermarket half a mile away and an Asda and Lidl approximately 1 mile in Spennymoor town centre.The property comprises of a new fitted kitchen and modern bathroom. The two adjoining reception rooms are furnished to a high standard and the two double bedrooms, one with a king size bed have a charm, each of their own. There is an enclosed court yard to the rear where you can sit at the bistro table and enjoy breakfast in the morning sun. Also, There is very easy access, if you are bringing bikes and a secure lock up brick shed.I feel that this property will suit couples who don't want to be staying in the hustle and bustle of the

In the heart of County Durham and a perfect base to explore a fascinating and contrasting region. Sample some of the region's rich history and visit Hadrian's Wall and Lindisfarne. There are some beautiful castles and country houses like Bamburgh and Cragside to see. Also Bishop Auckland Castle with it's famous paintings is just 5 miles away. Experience the North East's rich industrial and technological heritage, at the Discovery Museum and the Darlington Railway Centre and Museum. Also, Locomotion, the National Railway Museum is at Shildon 7 miles away and the Wear Valley Railway's closest station, at Bishop Auckland are all well worth a visit.Close to Weardale and the North Pennines. Also not too far is the lovely area of Teesdale, with High Force waterfall, 29 miles. The historic town of Barnard Castle with it's quaint antique shops, is 19 miles and the Lake District in Cumbria, is 80 miles.

Spennymoor

There are remains of a Roman fort at Binchester which is very close by and a five minutes drive to Whitworth Hall and deer park. Also, 9 miles away is Hardwick Hall with it's country park and Sedgefield Racecourse. Witton Castle Country Park with Virgin Balloon launching is 10 miles. Spennymmor Leisure Centre with it's fun pool with wave machine and gym is just a mile away in the town centre. Also, there is horse riding very close by, within a mile.The local just 100 yards away often has live music on at a weekend. If you like a round of golf, there are many courses very nearby i.e Brancepeth 4 miles, Bishop Auckland 5 miles, Crook 7 miles, Durham 7 miles. Also for cricket fans, Durham County Cricket ground is at Chester -le-street, just 16 miles away.If your feeling energetic, why not hop on your bike and explore the great cycle ways that are literally on the doorstep. For all abilities of walking and cycling there is Hamsterley Forest (with it's award winning C2C national cycle route) and picnic area with cycle hire, which is 15 miles away. If on the other hand you just want to be pampered, relax and unwind there is the Seaham Hall and Serenity Spa just 20 miles away.You are just 7 miles from vibrant night life in the beautiful city of Durham, with its famous cathedral and castle.
