“Excellent Facilities and friendly and helpful owners”

Reviewed 16 Sep 2013

We recently had a weekend away with four couples and two young children and found 40 Retreat to be the perfect venue. The house was in very good condition with the open kitchen and dining area great for entertaining. The house is in a great location for the Southsea high street with heaps of shops if you want that sort of thing. Steve was fantastic and very patient with the constant questions prior to the weekend and pointed everything out when we arrived. Overall a fantastic weekend away. Thanks

“Beautiful house, great hospitality from owners”

Great location, close to the Kings Theatre were we had our annual Empower Conference. Close to the seafront and great shops on Palmerston Road. Steve and Malisa let our guests have the run of their beautiful house and made them feel at home.

“The best rented house I've ever stayed in in the UK”

Reviewed 17 Mar 2013

What a lovely house! It was spacious, comfortable and felt like home. It feels like it's lived in and has charm, character and everything you could possibly want with that extra homelike feeling because of the many wonderful ornaments, books, artwork and tasteful decoration. My teenage children loved it too as there are TVs in almost every room and CDs and DVDs for all tastes. The owners were extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly. There are restaurants, shops, bars and take aways just round the corner but it's very quiet and peaceful. Couldn't have asked for anything better!
