Description from owner

Description

No.4 Church Street is a newly renovated 200 year old brick and flint cottage, located in the heart of the beautiful countryside village of Southrepps and only a short drive away to the North Norfolk coast.

Two lovely bedrooms with character features, stripped wood flooring and cosy rugs; one kingsize with pretty dual aspect windows to the side and front of the cottage and one smaller room with two single beds.

There are two bathrooms; the upstairs one has been completely updated and has an indulgent roll top bath, the other is a separate downstairs shower room with another handy sink and wc; perfect for families or couples sharing so you can each have your own bathroom. High quality soft white bedlinen, towels and hand soaps are all provided.

Downstairs the cottage has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The light and spacious kitchen has solid wood work surfaces, high quality Churchill China crockery and all the necessary newly fitted appliances such as dishwasher, double oven, induction hob, fridge, washing machine and microwave. The kitchen is very well equipped; a Nespresso coffee machine with coffee pods is provided, as well as tea, milk and biscuits for your stay. The dining area in the kitchen leads out through double french doors and into the fully enclosed, large sunny garden, perfect for alfresco dining with its own beautiful seating area.

In the living room there are two comfortable sofas set around a cosy wood burning stove and a Roberts bluetooth stereo with i-Pad docking station so you can relax and listen to your favourite music. There is a TV, DVD player with good selection of films and free WiFi. A large antique farmhouse table is ideal for dining in next to the fire or for playing our selection of vintage board games.

No.4 Church Street is less than a 10 minute drive to the wonderful beaches on the North Norfolk coast and National Trust properties at Felbrigg, Sheringham and Blickling are all close by. The Norfolk Broads and the historic cathedral city of Norwich are only 30 minutes away and can be easily accessed by car or train at the nearby station at Gunton.

The cottage is set in the very heart of Southrepps and is directly adjacent to the highly regarded Vernon Arms pub which has an excellent reputation for good food and local ales.

The village convenience shop and post office are only a few minutes walk from the cottage. Other ammenities including a brand new Waitrose are only a 10 minute drive away.

No.4 Church Street is the ideal place for a romantic break, a couples retreat or a family holiday for four.

Getting around

A car is recommended although not entirely necessary - there is an excellent bus route a short walk from the cottage that runs through the village and goes directly into Cromer. Or from Cromer you can get the 'Coast Hopper' bus which runs all the way along the North Norfolk coast to Hunstanton and stops at every village along the way! Gunton train station is less than 2 miles from the cottage and is a 30 minute journey to Norwich (from here there is also a direct link into London Liverpool Street).

I'm happy to help with any enquiries about the local area or places to eat during your stay and can provide information prior to your visit if required.

“Idilic Southrepps Family Friendly Getaway with all Mod Cons”

Reviewed 18 Dec 2016

We stayed for a Friday and Saturday in August - it was perfect. Cottage is beautifully and tastefully furnished, beds were comfy, and the garden an unexpected delight - it is massive, and our 2 young boys had a great time playing in it. This cottage has clearly had a lot of love and attention given to it, and has some stunning features including the wood burner in the living room, and the spacious and sunny kitchen. The location is great for Cromer and then for the rest of beautiful East and North Norfolk, an area we know very well and have stayed in many times over the years. This cottage ranks right up there with the best of our stays, and we can't wait to go back. Highly recommended.

“Tasteful, classy and welcoming”

Reviewed 17 Dec 2016

Well if supermarkets did holiday cottages, this one would definitely be a Waitrose!! It is a beautiful cottage full of character and finished to a high standard throughout. Every detail has been thought of- including the torches to go out to the wood store if needed. The cottage is very well equipped and everything is spotlessly clean. The kitchen is a comfortable layout and sociable to use; the log burner an absolute joy and the roll top bath just luxurious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to stay again.

“An idyllic cottage”

We have stayed at No 4 Church Street twice now and are already planning our return!! The cottage is chocolate box perfect with an absolutely stunning garden for enjoying an alfresco tipple in. The owners have gone to great lengths to make sure you feel completely at home and relaxed in this beautiful furnished cottage which feels more like a home from home! Being dog owners, we were thrilled to find such a stunning property which allowed us to bring out four legged family member along with us. The village of Southrepps is beautiful too with the bonus of a welcoming pub right next door to the cottage - you have to try a pint of local ale and one of their homemade sausage rolls - divine! If a boutique style cottage, perfect location and endless beautiful walks are on your list, then No 4 Church Street is the place for you!

Owner's reply: We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay at No 4 Church Street and very much welcome any return visits! We also have a dog who loves the surrounding countryside, all the fantastic beach walks and of course the dog friendly pub next door!
