It takes 19 minutes to Westminster where you have the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, and Buckingham Palace. The London Eye is also a short distance from here or you can take a train directly from the Apartment to Charing Cross (Trafalgar Square) via London Bridge which only takes 21 minutes. There are 2 large double rooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed and a second bedroom offers a double bed. Quality bed linens are provided for both bedrooms. There is a comfortable air mattress and bed linen to sleep a 5th guest.

The bathroom has a powerful shower, WC, wash hand basin, and heated towel rail. Two Towels are provided for each room.

With a range of architectural styles spanning the late 19th and 20th centuries, Forest Hill was described by Sir Norman Foster as "a delightful pocket of South London". Of particular note including the Horniman museum are, The Capitol Cinema and classic art deco mansion blocks Forest Croft and Taymount Grange.

Forest Hill railway station is served by frequent trains to London Bridge, Canada Water and Victoria Station and a number of bus routes.

Sydenham Hill Woods rate as one of the top ten places in London for people who love the outdoors. The wood has winding paths on a steep hillside and can be entered from Cox's Walk footbridge or Crescent Wood Road. The nature reserve is on a steep clay hillside and is dominated by sessile oak and hornbeam but there are several glades where the under storey is holly and hazel.

The wood is home to over 200 species of trees and flowering plants including wild garlic, early dog violet and bugle. The wood is also home to a multitude of fungi, rare insects, birds and elusive woodland mammals. Talking a stroll along Cox's Walk you'll find an old avenue lined with oaks and, if you look closely, you may well spot nuthatch and green woodpecker. Other species are leopard slugs, rare spiders, wasps & flies, and stag beetles.

There are bluebells, wood sorrel, lesser celandine, wild garlic with Foxgloves and red campion. There are springs near the junction of Crescent Wood Road and Sydenham Hill – the highest springs in the arc of the whole hill range. There are two entrances to the wood; one on Crescent Wood off Sydenham Hill and the other on Cox's Walk by the Harvester pub.

“Not what we expected”

Our first problem came when we discovered that there is no parking space as advertised, you have to find a free space in a road some distance away. The acual flat is OK but obviously someone's home, lots of personal toiletries, pan of fat hidden away in the oven, bulk packs of rice, spices etc, so it felt a bit strange. It is impossible to sleep in the main bedroom because of some persistent noise, a fan perhaps or the buildings water system. This would have been quite a problem if there had been four of us. The person who met us at the flat and checked us out was charming but this didn't make up for the other problems.

Thank you for taking the time to share your valuable review. We do say in our advert that there is parking space, not secure parking or allocated parking. The apartment is located in a suburban residential area with ample free street parking a short distance from the building not unlike many residential streets. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to you. We have now clearly stated in our advert the type of parking provision provided. Unfortunately we were not aware of a noise affecting the main bedroom and we are sorry that your sleep was affected. We are investigating the source of the noise. The housekeeping issues that you experienced are not characteristic of the level of service that we or our host strive to provide. Thank you for pointing this out to us.
