If you are arriving by car you will have the convenience of being able to park your car a few feet away from the front door of the Guest Suite. The accommodation is on two floors and there is a large back garden which guests are welcome to use. On the ground floor there is a large living dining room with open plan kitchen. A kingsize bedroom with shower/utility room and toilet. Upstairs there is a master bedroom with en suite bathroom and another bedroom with three single beds. There are three bedrooms in all. The owners live in the attached part of the property. The Guest Suite is conveniently located for visiting London by train. London Bridge is 11 mins from East Croydon station. Sanderstead station has regular trains to London Bridge and Victoria (23 mins). There is also a tram stop, with regular trams to Wimbledon via East Croydon, just a short drive away. Once you arrive back at East Croydon station, there are usually London black taxis waiting. The Guest Suite

Bedroom 1 (red room) has a super-kingsize 6' wide bed. Bedroom 2 (blue room) has a kingsize 5' wide bed plus 3' single bed. In the family room there is a double sofa-bed with a sprung mattress which can be used if extra sleeping space is required.The double door bathroom has a new white bath, wash-hand basin, toilet and separate shower. The bathroom, which is between the two bedrooms, is accessed from a separate dressing area to bedroom 1 and is en suite to bedroom 2.The free-standing, galley style kitchen, is equipped for at least 7 people. There is a small cooker with double electric hob, a fridge with small freezer and a microwave oven.Although there is no utility room, you will find details of a local laundry service in the folder in the Guest Suite on arrival. The owners who live adjacent, are happy to arrange collection and delivery of clean laundry while guests are out sightseeing.The front door of the Guest Suite leads into a spacious family room which forms the lounge, dining area and kitchen of the suite. There is comfortable seating for up to seven people for dining and relaxing. There is a TV and a leather sofa and sofa-bed.The Guest Suite is thoroughly cleaned before new guests arrive. All bedlinen and towels are supplied. There is no maid service during your stay, unless specifically requested. A supply of spare bedlinen and towels are kept in the Guest Suite.

The Guest Suite has the advantage of being on the ground floor and you can park your car very close to the front door. There is however a step up into the family room through the front door and another step up to the bedrooms from the family room. The garden, which is all on the flat with patio and grass, is accessible via the French doors in the family room.Guests are welcome to use the back garden which can be accessed through French doors from the family room. There is a fountain and two fish ponds at the bottom of the garden. Garden chairs and tables are available. The ponds are possibly more than 18 inches deep in places and therefore it is recommended that small children are supervised in the garden at all times.

The Guest Suite is well placed for driving to the south coast. The nearest beach is at Brighton which would take about an hour to drive. However other beaches on the south Kent coast and Hampshire are possible to visit by car, or train, in a day. Chartwell, Sir Winston Churchill's home, is about 30 mins drive away and Hever Castle, where Henry VIII famously courted Anne Boleyn, is approx 45 mins drive. Gatwick airport is about 30 mins drive and Heathrow Airport about an hour. London black taxis are waiting at the nearby East Croydon station.
South East London
The Guest Suite at Sanderstead is surrounded by golf courses: Selsdon Park, Farleigh Common, Addington Court, Addington Palace, Purley Downs, Croham Hurst, Langley Park, Banstead Downs and Coulsdon Court are just a few miles away. Sanderstead village is a 5 min walk away from The Guest Suite. Here you will find a bank and post office, a paper shop, baker, hairdresser and barber, restaurants and a Waitrose supermarket. All Saints Church (1230 AD) is a short walk away, via Sanderstiead duck pond which is very pretty. The church has guided tours at certain times and is well worth a visit.

A lovely family friendly place to stay with a wonderful garden and an enchanting hidden gate leading to the oval, kids playground and local high street beyond. Super simple getting into London and you couldn't get nicer hosts. Even doing our washing/bringing in our washing if it looked like rain! Absolutely recommended.
“Spacious, comfortable and homely - a great find”
This apartment really does have the WOW factor. The photos don't do it justice. The apartment is spacious and very tastefully decorated. Although connected to the owner's house you have complete privacy and independence. Location is excellent with good transport links to London and the surrounding area. The owner is a very friendly lady and I am in no doubt that we want to book again.
“Peaceful and relaxing but an easy ride to London”
We stayed at the Guest Suite with our 2 small children (4 & 2) and my sister & brother-in-law. There was plenty of room, both bedrooms were spacious and the blue room fit all four of us perfectly! We came to London for the Olympics and had no problem catching the train into London each day. On our "off" days we relaxed in the garden, played in the park just behind the house and went on excursions outside the city. Irene was so lovely and really made our stay one to remember!
