Location description from owner

The Yorkshire region

Scarborough is the jewel in the crown of the Yorkshire coast. Whatever the weather or time of year there is always something to do. From the imposing Castle to the Woodend Gallery and Rotunda Museum there is lots of history on your door step.

Scarborough Spa is what put the town on the map and has just been subject of a multi million pound renovation, concerts, conferences and comedians are just some of what it has to offer.

The Stephen Joseph theatre is home to Sir Alan Ayckbourn's latest plays and the new open air theatre is Europe's largest, with world class performances and concerts throughout the summer. For people wanting an active holiday Scarborough is perfect with plenty of Water sport options and miles of wonderful cycling and walking on the coast or in close by North York moors.

There is a wealth of restaurants and pubs from fish and chips to fine dining and real ale pubs to nightclubs and the impressive opera house casino. Scarborough Cricket ground is also home to Yorkshire County Championship games throughout the year.
However if all you want is to relax then Scarborough's miles of golden sand are perfect...

South Cliff

Nestled behind the Esplanade the apartment is excellently placed for all of Scarborough's amenities.

“Not as good as we had hoped and noisy upstairs flat”

Reviewed 9 Nov 2016

I was looking my forward to a trip to this little flat after seeing the reviews on TA and the fact that we regularly stay at Scarborough. Sadly I was disappointed and we only stayed one night out of 2 booked. The front door opens only about a quarter of the way, almost hit my face carrying the bags in. Cupboard next to the door collapsed after trying to get through the tiny gap in the door ( I'm a small woman god forbid an over average sized person trying to get through). Rug in the room is a massive slip hazard as well. Both these issues have been put in the guest book on numerous occasions and have obviously not been resolved. The major issue is if the upstairs flat is occupied if it is your in for a treat of marching elephant feet and hearing the private conversations / actions of strangers whenever they are in! Some items need fixing, cleaning more thoroughly or replacing ( coffee table wobbly, quilt cover had a split seam, shower grout grubby etc) . I'm giving it a three as it would suit some people as a literal crash pad but if your looking for quiet as advertised either book upstairs or check if it's booked before you go. The location is nice and parking is free.

Owner's reply: I am sorry that you did not have a perfect stay. Had you made me aware of these problems during your stay I would have had them corrected. I have recently planed the door but it must have swelled again. Fortunately we have had a busy season but I will take stock of your comments and correct them. Kind regards for complimenting our location. I am sorry if you experienced noise from other guests however this is a draw back or renting a lower floor apartment however we reflect this in our pricing which for a flat with modern facilities and free WiFi we believe to be very reasonable. Best regards James
