The kitchen is fitted with all modern facilities: dishwasher, washer-dryer, microwave, oven, ceramic cooker and fridge-freezer. There is also an extra large toaster, kettle and a state of the art bean-to-cup German coffee maker. There is a brand new bathroom downstairs (rain shower) with under-floor heating. Table, chairs, sofa and cushions and a barbecue are provided for use on the decking.

Upstairs, the main bedroom is furnished with a King size bed and it offers stunning views over the lake via a Juliette balcony. The second bedroom offers a double bed and the third bedroom has two single beds. A family bathroom (bath&shower) with granite worktop complements the upstairs area.

The Lodge is ideally situated within walking distance of the playground, sports field, river stream, tennis courts and games pavilion. Staying at the lodge you can obtain access to the spa facilities at the Four Pillars Hotel (supplement to be paid directly to the hotel). All sorts of water sports such as kayaking, wake boarding and water skiing are available in the locality. Two (18 hole) golf courses serve the area where the property is and fishing is allowed directly outside the lodge on Isis Lake (carp fish). If you are interested in fishing, there is also a trout lake and similarly, private fisheries offer day passes. You can also hire bikes in the area and enjoy long rides and walks in the very safe dedicated network of paths. There is also a beach to swim in at the Cotswold Country Park and a dedicated swimming area for dogs.

The Lodge has been decorated following the maritime traditions in our family. The Lodge has taken its name from a vessel called Rocklight which peacefully navigated the British waters in 1890s. However, an intriguing legal dispute arose between the owner and crew of the Rocklight and another vessel called Darro. In the lodge, you will see the original Admiralty papers related to the case, as well as replica boats and lots of other nautical details.

We pride ourselves in offering a different holiday letting experience, in very stylish surroundings decorated with unique pieces that tell a story and the most up to date technology to allow you to enjoy great entertainment in great comfort!

As part of our service, we email all our guests a compiled guide to the area, containing interesting information on day excursions, eateries and activities in and around the lakes.

“A little Bit Of Heaven”

Reviewed 30 Sep 2016

Just had a fabulous break at the Rocklight. It was everything we could of wished for, peace, tranquility, lakeside accommodation that offers that bit of home from home experience with extra. Although only two of us Rocklight is geared towards families with fantastic home entertainment to keep kids happy. Very comfortable bed in master bedroom which is unusual. Attention to detail is more than you would expect for self catering.

Julie and Michael, Thank you so much for our kind words. It is lovely to hear that our guests enjoy staying at our home by the lakes! Do come back for a longer stay, next time! Kind regards, Maria

“Beautiful cottage - I highly recommend this rental! When can I book again!!”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2016

The Decor through out is gorgeous, plus comfortable and clean. Coffee maker was an added bonus :) plus having a down stairs toilet with another shower was great. The decking is a great spot, right on the lake. Such a peaceful and relaxing stay! Having 3D movies, the Wii and Amazon Prime are great added perks also. Comfortable beds and loads of extra bedding/towels were available. The kitchen was fully kitted out, and we were welcomed with a card and shortbread :) We did notice the tray of Alcohol, but we brought enough of our own ;) is this provided for guest? I can't wait to book my next stay!! Thanks.

Thank you so much for your very kind words; we are chuffed that you enjoyed staying at The Rocklight. Yes, indeed, we provide fresh coffee beans for free for our bean-to-cup coffee machine and we also provide a free mini bar, as we realise that from time to time our guests might fancy a little drink and the shops are not immediately by. We do look forward to welcoming you back, any time!!!!. Kind regards, Maria

“An absolutely wonderful Lakeside Lodge to visit to chill out and relax”

Reviewed 26 Jan 2016

We have stayed at the Rocklight twice now and love it there. It is perfect, so cosy and relaxing and peaceful there. The decor of the lodge is fab and to the best quality and everything you could need is at hand. It is wonderful to sit out on the decking by the lake watching the swans and the ducks. Lots of lovely nearby walks, and local places to go to eat or just for a drink that are walking distance. Absolutely perfect and we look forward to going back soon. Most recommended to family and friends.

Gill, Many thanks for your kind words. We work very hard to offer a relaxing and stylish environment for our guests and are constantly improving The Rocklight so that even our repeat guests can find something new and interesting in the house when they come back to stay there. We look forward to welcoming you back soon again! Kind regards, Maria

“The Rocklight simply rocks: we loved it!”

Reviewed 22 May 2015

We booked The Rocklight in Feb for a long stay with our kids. We were absolutely bowled over by the high standards and the beautiful, stylish interiors. This is the third time that we have rented in Isis Lake and know lots of friends who also regularly rent here. However, this lodge is on another league and we couldn't believe it is so reasonably priced! Our previous properties had old furniture and little style, whilst this is amazing and we didnt want to leave. We loved the modern kitchen and the German espresso maker, the owners provided us with coffee too, which is a great touch. The kids absolutely loved the huge 3d tv and playing dj hero on the Wii. The bedrooms are calm and clean and we just could not fault it. The host is kind and communicative and left us some gorgeous home baked pastries for breakfast. There is so much to see around the area and the lodge is conveniently located within a stone's throw of the fantastic playground! We certainly be back to experience again a holiday in the lap of luxury! Thank you, Maria!

“One of the best experiences ever!”

Reviewed 17 Apr 2015

Maria's communication and willingness to help was exemplary! The accommodation had everything we could think of. The lake was soothing! The ducks were welcoming! The games room/facilities on the grounds were excellent! We had a lovely time! Although we did not do ourselves, we did see others fishing! The 3D TV was large. The broadband worked well! Plenty of places to visit around. Just to name a few: Cirencester museum well exceeded our expectations. Visiting the origin of Thames was exhilarating! The little village of Burford was very cute! Overall, we had an excellent time! But most importantly and one more time, Maria's communication was the best part of it! I simply wished all hosts were like you!
