Close to the market towns of Mirambeau, Montendre and Jonzac, the pretty fishing ports of the Gironde estuary, and the superb beaches up the coast to Royan and beyond, the gites are excellently placed for a great holiday in the Charente – Maritime. Bordeaux, St Emilion, Cognac, Saintes, Pons, Rochefort and La Rochelle are all easily within 1 hours drive or less.
La Fleur has two bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin), and a foldaway bed that can be put up in the twin. A separate kitchen, large living area with dining table and double doors leading to a private patio with table and chairs. There is a beautiful large pool with comfortable sunlounger, and direct access to the large garden. In the large garden you will find a 14ft trampoline with nets (the kids love it), along with swings, and other play toys. There is also various bat and ball games, skipping ropes and a boule set - there is certainly plenty of room to run around.
The Charente-Maritime area of France has an abundance of things to do and see. Whether you want an action packed holiday or just to take in the beautiful sites (smells and tastes!) we have it all. And if travelling with small children please note that we have all necessary baby/toddler equipment.
Bedlinen, bath towels (not pool/beach), electricity and gas is included in the rental. Also available for our very young guests are stairgates, potties, toilet seats, steriliser, highchair, baby bath.
A welcome pack is included for our guests staying a week or more, offering freshly baked bread, milk, cheese, orange juice, fresh eggs and wine from the local vineyard, butter, jam and fresh fruit from our trees (subject to season). If travelling with children we will add some kids treats!
The gite is available from 4.00 pm on your day of arrival and must be vacated by 10.00 am on the day of departure. The gite is fully cleaned at the end of your stay and we do ask that you leave the gite in the same condition you found it.

La Fleur has two bedrooms. Both bedrooms are upstairs, one double and one twin). All bedlinen and towels are provided during your stay.
There is a wash basin and toilet upstairs and downstairs there is a spacious shower room which contains a large shower cubicle, wash basin and toilet. We also provide a baby bath that fits neatly into the cubicle for the little ones that can't/don't like to shower.
There is a separate kitchen with cooker, fridgefreezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, iron and ironing board and all the normal crockery and cutlery. A washing machine is available in the courtyard which is shared by both gites.
The light and airy lounge/dining room contains a large sofa, an easy chair and a dining table. We have also included a TV with English channels and DVD player with a wide selection of dvds available to borrow, books and children's games/puzzles. Outside there is a private covered patio with table and chairs and a stone bbq.
We have young children ourselves so know what is needed if travelling with kids, therefore we have everything you may need, so you can pack less and relax more.

The gite has direct access to the heated pool and garden. The pool measures approximately 11m x 5.5m.
The pool is heated from the beginning of April to the end of October each year. We try to keep it at a very comfortable temperature which means you are able to swim everyday. The pool has a shallow and deep end and has a gently shelving slope all the way round. It is fitted with a safety alarm which complies with French safety standards and a fence has been added to provide extra safety for smaller children. There are rattan sunloungers with very comfortable cushions, for those who like their afternoon snooze.
In the large garden you will find a 14ft trampoline with net (the kids love it), along with swings, a play house with slide and other play toys. There are also various bat and ball games and a boule set - there is certainly plenty of room to run around. For parents, there is a hammock under a large shaded tree to hide in with a book....

We have had a wonderful time at La Fleur, Tanya and Paul were fantastic hosts and our boys had a brilliant time playing in the garden and pool! Outdoor areas are absolutely wonderful and the gite was comfortable and lovely and cool in the hot weather. Our 2 boys did not want to leave and I'm sure we will be back!

“Beautiful, relaxing & family friendly with wonderful hosts”
We had the most amazing 2 weeks at La Maison Bleue. It's a fantastic place to relax and unwind with young children. Lazy days by the pool, happy and entertained kids on the trampoline, swings and ride ons in the beautiful garden and lots to see and do in the surrounding area. Rae and JC have created a welcoming and idyllic setting and are dedicated to making sure their guests are happy. The 'croissant fairy' who delivered to our door every morning and JC's knowledge and supply of wine were perfect little extra touches to our wonderful holiday! We'll be back.

What a great week we enjoyed at La Fleur. Well equipped, comfy beds and decorated perfectly with the addition of a stunning pool. The kids were in their element. Rustic yet homely, La Fleur was full of gallic charm. The owners had really though about what a family need on holiday and provided it all in abundance, best of all though, was their hospitality. Warm and inviting, Rae and JC couldnt have done more to make us feel at home. We'll be back for sure, and not just to sample from the chateaux's they recommended, although that is certainly a plus.

Fantastic gite and lovely host family. Rae and JC have thought of everything to make this a wonderful and relaxing holiday. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we could not fault it. La Fleur was perfect for us, full of rustic charm and with everything we needed for travelling with 2 small children. The garden with all the children's toys was brilliant and the pool was gorgeous, which was great for the children and due to it's proximity to the gite we could even sneak off for a cheeky swim once they were in bed. Nothing was too much trouble for Rae and JC, they were on hand if you needed them but not intrusive, the fresh bread and pastries delivered to your door every morning was a lovely touch and the pain aux raisins were delicious! It's a little drive to the coast, about 40 minutes, but once you are there there is plenty to do and the beaches are lovely.
“Finally - a holiday we ALL enjoyed”
This was the holiday that we have been looking for since the birth of our first child. We stayed in the 2 bed La Fleur gite for seven nights with our 3 and a half year old and 18 month old baby. Friends of ours stayed in the neighbouring gite. The major plus point for us was how well the accommodation and grounds have been thought out for families (the lovely owners have a 2 year old and a 6 year old). The play equipment in the garden kept our kids occupied for hours, as the did the mountain of toys left in the gite. Everything we needed was provided as a matter of course. Next time ( we are already working on booking our return trip next year) I will know to only bung clothes and cossies in the suitcase. The property is very secure with a gated and alarmed pool. There are only 2 gites plus the owners' home on site and no escape routes for wayward preschoolers. So, the winning factor for us had to be the knowledge that our active son was safe roaming around the gardens and gites in safety - allowing us to relax. Amazing! A close runner up were the superb wines supplied by the owners - absolutely stonking.

We have just returned from a fantastic week at La Maison Bleue. The gites are charming, much bigger than we were expecting, and beautifully furnished and cared for. The setting of Soubran and Mirambeau is idyllic and the gardens and swimming pool are both large. Our kids had one of the best weeks of their lives here as they had the pool, trampoline, swings and playmates to hang out with. Rae and JC are the most wonderful hosts and have created a truly wonderful holiday destination. They were very helpful with suggestions and directions for day trips and so we had a lovely day at a beach and wine tasting at the local vineyard. Little touches like welcome baskets on arrival and toys for the kids make it extra special. Would thoroughly recommend!

This was our first time staying here, we had a lovely time. The house was more than we hoped for. The pool was clean and warm - perfect. We were welcomed by the owners who couldn't have done more to make our stay just right. If you are looking for a wonderful french atmosphere and good accomadation, then look no further.
