Location description from owner

The Campania region

The region of Campania curves around the bays of Naples and Sorrento, with towering Vesuvius and mountain ranges and massifs looming above. Ancient classical ruins are scattered throughout the region, from the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum to the Greek temples in Paestum. Popular resort towns include charming Sorrento,Amalfi,Vico Equense, upscale Positano and haven for the elite, Ravello. For even more memorable sights, catch a ferry to the isle of Capri, home of the magical Blue Grotto. In this very famous area there is no lack of ‘wellness tourism’, like the thermal baths at Vico Equense, one of the most picturesque towns of the coast. But the great attraction of this land is in its natural beauty: the coastal road is one of the marvels of Italian scenery. Citrus groves, vineyards and olive groves that softly pour down the slopes towards the sea, the road follows the tortuous coastline, where curve after curve opens up incredible views of the Gulf of Naples, Vesuvius and Capri. The coast is high, craggy and rocky, with sheer limestone cliffs that crumble into the sea, coves and rocky shores.

Vico Equense

Vico Equense welcomes you in Sorrento Coast. The favorable climate, the centrality of the most important cultural and tourist sites in Campania, the special spa facilities, bathing, land overflowing with history and art (dating from the seventh century B.C. till today) and striking landscapes, ranging from sea level up to 1.400 meters of Monte Faito, are the singularities of thIS ancient place. Vico Equense is a succession of beaches with transparent sea, all equipped with modern bathing facilities. Coming from Castellamare di Stabia till the Scrajo, a place rich in sulfur springs from the therapeutic qualities, which bind to the crowded beaches with beautiful coast segments which extend towards Marina di Vico. After a stretch of open sea, under the overhanging Gothic Cathedral, began Marina di Aequa with its tourist and bathing facilities, which concludes with the beach known as the "Calcare". Vico Equense is the perfect tourist destination in every season and is a convenient starting point for all tours: Sorrento Coast: Meta di Sorrento,Piano di Sorrento, Sant'Agnello, Sorrento e Massa Lubrense.Amalfi Coast: Vietri sul mare, Cetara, Minori, Maiori, Ravello, Scala, Atrani, Amalfi, Conca dei Marini, Furore, Praiano, Tramonti e Positano.Archaeological sites: Pompeii, Herculaneum and Naples with its majestic Vesuvius.

“ideal place for exploring the area from Amalfi to Naples”

Reviewed 22 Apr 2013

lovely apartment with views across the bay of Naples and Capri. Well equiped for self catering, good wifi and 3 tv's ! Balconies get sun nearly all day if you are needing a rest day. Supermarket and car park about 5 mins walk down the hill, town centre about 15 mins walk downhill but take the bus back up. Owners very friendly and helpful.

“Great place to spend a break near Amalfi Coast”

Reviewed 7 Sep 2012

This accommodation is very comfortable with two large bedrooms, two shower rooms, fully equipped kitchen, and lounge area. The owners are very friendly. You'll find a supermarket about 5 minutes walk away and the town centre 10 minutes walk down the hill. Vico Equense has many restaurants, including the fantastic Pizza A Metro, and is well placed for visits to Pompei, Mount Vesuvius, the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Sorrento and Napoli. We had a lovely time here.
