We have just returned from a wonderful holiday Pierluigi’s villa in Vico Equense. Pierluigi was very helpful throughout the holiday and the meal he and Alfonso cooked on our first evening was delicious. We didn't use the downstairs garden room (perhaps a bit damp early in the season?) The three bedrooms in the villa worked fine for us. The Kitchen was well equipped, the showers were excellent with plenty of hot water, and the wine-store idea was brilliant! The views were spectacular - the beautiful sunsets, the ever changing view of the isle of Ischia, the brooding mountain of Vesuvius and the fascinating marina below. Six of us had an absolutely perfect holiday in a brilliant location - and after our days out to Pompeii, Sorrento, Amalfi and Positano we found Vico quite relaxing, lovely little restaurants around the square and we even had the pleasure of being able to sit and watch a church parade one evening (we also saw a wedding arriving at the cliff top cathedral, magical) The steps down to the beach were not as bad as we had anticipated and the walk up to the town was a good way of keeping fit! All in all a fabulous holiday
Thank you very much for your review! We are happy that you enjoyed your stay and had a good time in our villa. Thanks again Pierluigi

"Great welcome, superb house, great views and location."
We booked the house for our party of six for five days in late October/early November. The house is situated halfway down a steep cliff with magnificent south facing views across the harbour at Vico Equense and the magnificent cliffs beyond. The house has a well appointed kitchen, large lounge/dining room and a fab terrace with mature plants and lemon trees around three sides of the house. Four very comfortable bedrooms, two bathrooms ( soon to be three) and is immaculately clean and very well appointed all round. It was perfect for us in every way. Good strong wifi signal as well! Our hosts Pierluigi and Alfonso had arranged to pick us up from Napoli railway station and drive us to the house which was perfect for us on our arrival day with all our luggage. It is worth noting that the Circumvesuviano railway from Napoli to Sorrento runs close by, maybe a ten minute walk from the station through the charming small town square and it is very convenient and cheap to use for day trips to Sorrento, Napoli, Pompeii etc which is why we did not hire a car though should you need a car, there us plenty of parking space outside the house and a secure gated driveway down to the property. We had also arranged for our hosts to cook dinner for us on our night of arrival and after a long trip down from Roma this was very welcome. Served on a beautifully laid table on the terrace overlooking the harbour, we had bruschetta, antipasti, pasta, grilled fish and rhumbaba along with plenty red and white wine. Really excellent. There are some excellent bars, cafés and restaurants in Vico Equense itself, Pizza Metro the Pizza University is well worth a trip but there are other places worth exploring as well. Our hosts were available on the phone should we have needed any advice or help with anything during our stay and were the most accommodating and welcoming people we met on our trip. All in all we would heartily recommend this place it hour question.

"Breathtaking Villa with breathtaking view and personal gardens"
From the moment we arrived the exchange was seamless. We were met right at the gates and escorted to the Villa. No words can describe the elegance and simple beauty of this property. The terrace is also surrounded by natural stone walls and the most lovely personal gardens around the whole house. The home is equiped with everything you could possibly want for a self catered property. The home is in excellent condition and boasts beautiful tile and wood throughout. Our hosts were helpful and at our disposal as fast as a quick text! Vico is an exquisite little community, safe and so very lovely. Restaurants all around and fabulous walking streets for those who love to explore. All other Amalfi towns are within a stones throw from Vico. Enjoy this property as much as we did........we will return!
It was lovely having you as guests! We are happy that you have enjoyed the property and the surroundings! We really hope that you ll come visit us again soon! Thanks again Pierluigi

"Amazing apartment, we would recommend to all!"
During our visit to Italy where we stayed in 4 different apartments as we traveled across the country. This apartment was by far our favorite and best experience! To begin with , we traveled around Italy by train. Pierluigi ensured that when we arrived in Naples, that we had a convenient and reliable means by which to get from the train station to the apartment. Upon arrival at the apartment, we were stunned by the beauty of this property and its views out over the Gulf of Naples, the surrounding country side, and Mt. Vesuvius! Additionally, on our day of arrival, Pierluigi and his associate offered to prepare and serve us diner that evening out on the Terrace. This too turned out to be an amazing meal and experience. If they continue to offer this to future guests, we strongly recommend taking them up on the offer...the price is well worth it! A couple of key points for future prospective renters. First, Everything between Naples and Positano is built into steep cliff sides. If you are unable or unwilling to climb lengthy, steep stair ways; avoid this part of Italy! Vico Equense is no exception to this. Secondly, though technically accurate, this listing description can mis-lead you with respect to bathroom accommodations. There is only really one good shower in this house. it is located on the 2nd floor where 3 of the primary bedrooms are located. The second shower is associated with the ground floor bedroom and is only available if you have included this additional bedroom as a part of your rental. As we were 2 couples traveling together, we sought apartments that had two separate full bathroom facilities as a minimum. Be advised that if you are only renting the 1st and 2nd floor of this apartment that you will be sharing that one full bathroom on the 2nd floor. This would not keep us from renting this apartment again in the future, and in fact all of the other great aspects of this apartment easily out weigh this inconvenience. But, we just wanted to give future renters a heads up. Hats off to Pierluigi and his rental property! This is a real gem of a find when visiting this part of Italy. John M. Dallas, PA
We are honored that you have chosen our villa as the best accommodation you stayed in in Italy! It was great meeting you and your friends and we ll be happy to welcome you back in our home! Thanks again! Pierluigi

"Incredible house and view!"
Our stay in Vico Equense was amazing. The villa had a beautiful view of the ocean - which was warm enough to swim in. Short walking distance (5-10 minutes) to main part of town with a wide range of great restaurants. We slept with the windows wide open so we could wake to the view of the ocean. Siestas were on the couch in the living room, again with doors open to see the ocean. The hosts came over and prepared us a truly Italian dinner one night - delicious food and wonderful wine. We would definitely stay here again. Our stay started off with Pierluigi picking us up from the Naples airport and driving us along a scenic route to the viilla. At the end of our stay he also drove us to join our tour in Sorrento. Love the extra options (dinner, tour, rides) to make our stay so easy and relaxing.
Thank you again so much for your positive feedback! We are very happy that our guests enjoy the villa and its surroundings! Hope you ll be our guests again soon!

"Beautiful and hospitable stay"
This was an excellent experience for our group! Pierluigi was a wonderful host. He was very gracious and was more than willing to help us with any request that we had. Our dinner at the villa, that was prepared with lovely fresh fish, pasta and vegetables was absolutely delicious! Alphonso and Pierluigi did a fantastic job! The weather was also beautiful for the entire time that we were guests. We would highly recommend this villa.
We are very happy that you liked our villa and our dinner! We had fun spending time with all of you and hope that you ll be back in Italy soon! Best regards Pierluigi & Alfonso

"Really Enjoyed Our Stay!"
We really enjoyed our stay at the Villa. We had 8 in our party, including 4 kids ages 10 and 7 years. Pierluigi provided outstanding service. He was very responsive during the booking process and a great help once we arrived at the Villa. One of our kids had dental emergency during our stay. Pierluigi helped us quickly locate a dentist. The Villa is well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our shopping trip to the many wonderful stores in downtown Vico. We leveraged all of the amenities of the Villa, including a grill, to cook a traditional Italian meal. We enjoyed our meal with the back drop of the Mediterranean Sea from the views provided on the spacious outdoor patio. Each night we would enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail on the patio as we watched the sunset and took in the views. The kids loved the spaciousness of the Villa and the short walk to the beach. There was plenty of room to park our two large vehicles (based on what I can tell, this is rare). From the Villa, we enjoyed day trips to Pompeii and Positano. The drive to Positano was one of the most beautiful drives I've ever taken. The views of the coast and Positano were breath taking. We really enjoyed the town of Vico Equense. It was not as touristy or as busy as some of the surrounding areas such as Positano and Sorrento. This was very important to our group. As an extra bonus, there are a number of fresh fruit trees on the property (apricot, plums, and lemons). The kids loved the lemonade we made with the fresh lemons and eating the plums straight from the tree.
Thank you Very much for being our guests! Hope to see you again soon! Cristina & Pierluigi

"Great smalltown Italian beach house"
After spending time in big cities like Florence and Rome, it was a pleasure to stay at this house in Vico. There were virtually no other tourists in town and the people of Vico are extremely friendly. It was a 7 minute walk to the beach and a 10 minute walk to the downtown area and 15 minutes to the train station. The view to the ocean were a great thing to wake up to. There was a nice breeze when you opened up the windows which was refreshing. The house was in good condition and we cooked a few meals at the house which a break from eating out all of the time. Pierluigi is extremely prompt in responding to emails, taking out any angst in this transaction. Walking up and down to the beach is easy. Walking up the steps to the downtown area, requires a stop or two to catch your breath. Overall, a great experience.
Thank you very much for being our guests! Hope to see you again soon! We are happy that you enjoyed your holiday! Pierluigi & cristina

The villa was absolutely beautiful, clean, and spacious with all the amenities including washing machine, WIFI!, complete kitchen, comfortable bedrooms with lots of space, nice bath, great views, lovely garden area. We were traveling without an automobile and found it easy and safe to walk to town for groceries, meals, wine, banking, everything we needed. Getting to and from the home from the train station with all of our luggage might have been an issue as there is a very steep hill, but our kind hosts helped us arrange transportation! The train connected us to Pompei and Sorrento where we had access to Capri and Amalfi.
Thank you very much for being our guests! Claudia told me about your nice and polite family. We hope to have you as our guests again soon! Pierluigi & claudia

"Beautiful villa in fantastic location with great sea views."
We spent four nights here in April during a train trip across Europe. Vico Equense is an interesting little town beyond the urban sprawl an hour on the train from Naples. The train ride from Naples is not great especially with lots of luggage but the town itself is charming. Cristina welcomed us warmly and was really helpful. The villa itself is fantastic. Very spacious, clean and elegantly furnished. We ate our first evening's meal on the patio with great views of the bay of Naples and the sunset. A short walk up very (!) steep steps to the town and down the same steps to the little beach and harbour. Pretty quiet by the beach as off season but a few restaurants there and did try a very brief swim in the sea! Vico itself has everything you need for a few days. Famous "Pizza by the Metre" restaurant worth a visit as long as you're hungry! Easy to get to Pompeii and Vesuvius although pretty crowded in comparison to Vico. Would love to return again.
Thank you very much for visiting our property! We hope to have you as guests soon! Cristina
