“Great stay at Lacryma Christi”

Reviewed 1 Oct 2015

Great location with a relaxing view across the Bay of Naples and even to Mt Vesuvius. Lino is very helpful while his dad, Aurelio met us at the station and managed, with little English, to make us feel very welcome, show us where to shop and showed us the way around with a big smile all the while. Nothing was too much trouble for either of them. Walking distance to the attractions of Sorrento and a quaint little lift to make getting to the top floor easier. Make sure you have 5 cent pieces on hand. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

“Perfectly Simple / location, location, location”

Reviewed 14 Jul 2015

This was a very clean and nice apartment on the 6th floor of a building located two blocks from the train station and one block off the Main Street that runs through Sorrento. It is near two supermarkets and a 10 min walk to the downtown area. The location is excellent. There is a nice view of the water from the balcony. The owner is very responsive to requests. I would gladly stay here again. However, you need to know what to expect so as to enjoy your stay. It is not a hotel. There is no soap or shampoo, etc. They do provide towels. Access is by a two person-sized elevator. In short, It is a very basic apartment, but it has all the essentials and it is nice to cook some of your own meals and have a full sized fridge for bierra. It also had a washer to do laundry - a huge plus when it's 90 degrees with 60% humidity. When you arrive, the property is located uphill behind the gas station. It is the third or fourth building in from the entrance. The owners dad will meet you and explain the place and show you the key points in town on a map. Lastly, the train track is directly behind the building, which I did not think was an issue, but you can here the train come and go.

Owner's reply: Thanks for your detailed review. I appreciate. After your and other guest's advise, we are providing soap/shampoo. I hope to see you next time in Sorrento. Ciao Lino e Aurelio

“We loved everything about this apartment”

Reviewed 25 Oct 2014

We spent a week in September at Lino's wonderful apartment. From the moment we stepped off the Circumvesuviana train, greeted by Aurelio, Lino's father, to the moment we (regretfully) left, everything was perfect. The apartment is very spacious and had all the amenities you could want. There were three of us -- me, my wife, and our adult daughter. When our daughter thought the small bed in the living room would be too hard to be comfortable, I contacted Lino. His father came by within 30 minutes and got out the bed linens from the locked closet in the hall and made up the sofa bed for her. The kitchen had all the cooking utensils you would need, although with all the wonderful restaurants in Sorrento, we only cooked breakfast in the apartment. The location of the apartment is another great feature, only blocks from the train, the main square, and the Capri ferry. We walked everywhere in Sorrento, never having to take a bus. And, after a full day of exploring Sorrento, it was very relaxing having a glass of wine on the balcony, enjoying the view of the bay of Naples. During our stay, one of Lino's friends, Vincenzo, took us on a tour of the Amalfi Coast. I was happy to have him driving after seeing how narrow and winding the road was. Vincenzo, a certified tour guide, is an engaging young man who provided an excellent tour at a very reasonable price. Lino's father, Aurelio, pointed out a couple of good restaurants on the way from the train to the apartment. Pizzeria da Marco has wonderful (and huge) pizza. Il Leone Rosso, very good pasta. Our favorite restaurant, but fairly pricey, was L'Antica Trattoria. We loved Sorrento, and the next time we visit, we will definitely try to stay at this apartment again.

Owner's reply: Thanks for your nice review and for choosing our apartment. We are glad you enjoyed you stay in Sorrento and in our apartment. It's the best reward for our continue effort in improving our properties. Indeed, from October 2014 you will find a renovated look: with a new table and chairs, new sofa bed, and other amenities. I hope to take new pictures next month. Thanks again and I wait you next time you will be in our beautiful Sorrento. Lino e Aurelio

“Convenient, clean and good value in Sorrento”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2014

We were met at the station and taken to the apartment by Lino's father, and shown the lift and facilities, which was very good. The apartment which is on the 5th floor, was spacious with a lovely patio looking over the rooftops to the Bay of Naples and a distant view of Vesuvius. We used both the bed and the sofa bed in the lounge room, which I found very comfortable and easy to unfold every evening. The location is ideal, close to the station and buses, as well as cafés and restaurants, which we went to most evenings for dinner. Everything is within easy walking distance, and it takes only a few minutes to get to the old town, shops and ferry terminal. In all, the apartment is good value for money in a convenient location and Lino is easy to contact.

Owner's reply: Thanks for your nice review and for choosing our apartment. We are glad you enjoyed you stay in Sorrento and in our apartment. It's the best reward for our continue effort in improving our properties (one of the last was the new sofa bed, very easy to fold and unfold). Thanks again and I wait you next time you will be in our beautiful Sorrento. Lino e Aurelio

“What an AMAZING experience”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2014

There were three (ages 48, 21 & 14) of us in the apartment and it worked out beautifully. Lino the owner is VERY pleasant to deal with. His father picked us up at the train station in Naples, for 70 euros I would pay for this service a 100 times over. The apartment is spacious, very clean, its well located for everything you might need or want, theres a nice size bathroom with a good size shower, the ac works extremely well, from the spacious balcony the view is pretty. I would (and probably will) definately stay at this apartment again.

Owner's reply: Caro David, thanks for your nice words. We are always happy when a guest have a good experience in one of our apartments. I hope to see you again next year, you will find a new sofa-bed and other stuff to get even more relaxing and comfortable your stay. We are also going to organize personal guided tours. Ciao Lino
