You can relax in the garden under the shady palm with a glass of wine and a good book while the children play away in the garden safe from traffic.

We have made eating outside a pleasure, you can sit on the terrace under the shade of the trees or on the veranda. The large barbecue is ideal for preparing family sized meals.

It is a 5 minute walk to the centre of Sorède village where there are various shops and of course the essential boulangerie. In the centre there are a number of pavement bars and restaurants to sit and have a coffee or spend an evening and sample the local Catalan dishes. Markets are held in the village weekly and are a great place to buy fresh local produce.

Secure parking for several cars.

Location description from owner

The Languedoc-Roussillon region

The climate in this part of France is officially the sunniest in France with more than 300 days of sunshine each year. Sorede is only 20 minutes from the Spanish border, 10 minutes to the Mediterranean sea and has a backdrop of the magnificent Pyrenees mountains, it is a truly stunning place to spend your holiday.

Sorede

Sorède is a great village, ideally placed for an all action holiday, a beach holiday, a gastronomic holiday ...... it's your choice.

The village has a distinctive Catalan feel about it and has everything close at hand to enjoy a relaxing stay, leave the car behind and wander to the village square and enjoy an evening sitting at one of the pavement cafes or try one of a selection of restaurants to suit all pockets.

The village has a good selection of shops including, butcher, baker, general store, post office, bank, hairdresser and florist. The tourist office is very helpful and has a great supply information of things to do in the area.

A family visit to Tortoise Valley is a must. Or if you prefer more traditional activities, Boules, Tennis, Swimming and Horse riding are all available in the village.

Days out are plentiful, with miles of beautiful Mediterranean beaches to choose from. The closest beach is at Argeles sur Mer and is less than a 10 minute drive. The tree lined promenade is ideal for an evening stroll before dinner in one of the many restaurants lining the beach or wander through night market (peak season) looking for that perfect souvenir. Take a seat at a beach side café sipping a cocktail and listening to the water lapping up on the beach.

Collioure, has always been a source of inspiration for artists. Picasso, Dufy, Chagall, Derain and Matisse have all spent time in Collioure to immortalize on canvas the quaint Catalan harbour. Visit the many art galleries, walk the ramparts of the 800 year old château or explore the town on the tourist train.

Spain, visit the surrealist Dali museum in Figueras or Barcelona the capital of Catalonia is only 2 hours away.

Carcassonne, Le Cité epitomises the "fairy tale" castle, seeped in history the fortifications boast no less than 53 towers and is approximately a 1 hour 30 minute drive from the house.
