Come and stay in our beautiful 4 bedroom thatched house – a stunning oasis with landscaped garden and sparkling pool set within a private walled garden, right on the doorstep of the Winelands, beaches, the Garden Route and only 25 minutes from Cape Town International Airport and 30 mins from Cape Town with all its attractions.

The house offers 4 double bedrooms (one with master ensuite, dressing room and balcony with beautiful mountain views, and another with ensuite), two lounges (one with wood burning stove the other with gas fireplace for cooler evenings) both leading out through french doors to the patio and pool and an indoor braai area.

Our house is located in Somerset West in the heart of the Winelands area. The area is well known for its' vineyards, golf courses, fabulous restaurants, magnificent scenery with fantastic mountain views and only 10 minutes from Strand beach and Somerset Mall with its huge selection of shopping.

Within a short drive are many activities such as golf, horse-riding, walking, tennis, windsurfing, surfing, sailing, diving with sharks, quad biking, zip-lining. The Helderberg Nature Reserve can be seen from the house and offers hikes and trails.

There is a sophisticated alarm system, automatic gate and garage, and parking facilities for 4+ cars.

Just got back from two weeks at The Thatched Cottage. Words can not describe how lovely it was. Have been coming to Somerset West for the last 6 years, staying at another villa close by, I found The Thatched Cottage to be cosier and personal. The owner was very helpful and friendlyand Gabi the agent is always on hand with help and advice. Would definitely stay again already thinking of my next stay

We run out of superlatives to describe The Thatched House and our 2 week stay there! With 6 family members across 3 generations (one of whom is South African by birth) we all had different expectations of the house, the location, the weather and the people - and all those expectations were exceeded in such an amazingly positive way. The communication with Deborah during the booking process (including some last minute changes) was exceptional - very responsive, helpful and friendly. The house manager, Gabi, also showed exactly the same characteristics and is a very real asset to the house and its renters - nothing was too much trouble and she made our stay really relaxed and easy. All the features and amenities in the house were of a superb standard and the view of the Helderberg mountain from the garden and lovely pool was simply stunning. Within an hour's drive of the house there were plenty of things to do whatever the weather, and Waterstone Village mall was an easy place to shop compared with the much larger Somerset Mall. Would we go back to The Thatched House? Absolutely! We are already saving up our pennies!!

How do damage deposits work?
