Description

River Cottage is a contemporary holiday cottage situated in the very popular Lower Mill Village area of the Cotswold Lakes. The cottage has recently been refurbished and today provides a modern holiday home – absolutely perfect (in our opinion) for children and families. The property is set within a gated community with an outdoor heated pool (seasonal), tennis court, and miles of cycle and walking trails for people of all ages to enjoy. Inside the owners have created a cottage that contains cool furniture alongside new gadgets, including a fabulous IPod docking station, that are sure to keep the children occupied even when wet!

Living area with a woodburning stove, beautiful sofa / chaiselonge, flatscreen TV and French doors to decking overlooking River Thames!

The Cotswolds region

The Cotswolds are one of the most ‘quintessential English’ regions in the UK.

It is officially designated as the country’s largest ‘areas of outstanding natural beauty’. Famous for its hillsides, river valley’s and Cotswold Stone Villages, the Cotswolds hold a wealth of history, stunning scenery, fine dining and many varieties of activities for all age levels.

Somerford Keynes

The Lower Mill Estate is a 450 acre private nature reserve, making it a nature lover’s paradise. As a guest, you are free to enjoy the whole Estate at your leisure. You may want to enjoy a peaceful walk around one of the beautiful lakes, fish, and bird watch from one of the hides.

Fishing is available on several of the lakes and Spinney Lake offers non-powered water sports. A small farm shop is situated in the heart of the Lower Mill Village, offering all of the essentials.

In addition to being within easy reach of many picturesque Cotswold villages and the splendour of Roman towns like Cirencester and Bath, the Cotswold Water Park makes a great holiday destination because of the tremendous variety of activities on offer. Today the Cotswold Water Park is Britain’s largest water park, 50% larger than the Norfolk Broads, extending to over 40 square miles and includes: 133 lakes, 5 nature reserves, Country Parks with picnic and Barbecue sites, a Blue Flag bathing beach, an extensive network of footpaths, cycle ways and bridleways as well as extensive leisure and sporting activities. Many Cotswold attractions and villages are all within easy access
