“Peddlers rest”

Reviewed 1 Apr 2018

We stayed as a couple for 5 nights, the cottage is described as on a main road which we found very noisy early morning and evening but this was to be expected. The amenities were as described, but a basket for logs would have been handy,we couldn't find the wii, sent a message to ask where it was but no reply,we did find it after looking through some cupboards, there was only 1 main controller which was very dirty and 1 numchuck,we had had brought our own Wii steering wheels but we needed 2 main controllers for our game so didn't bother using the Wii,maybe 2 main controllers and 2 numchucks would be good for at least 2 players. We couldn't get the Dolby surround sound to work but that could be down to us not understanding the instructions. We enjoyed the open fire, but there were no instructions where to put the ashes,as we used the fire most nights the ashes did build up but no instructions where to put them we just left them,if we had known the days for the wheelie bins we would have put the appropriate one out. There were cupboards with notes saying private which wasn't a problem, but we wanted to use a frying pan but could only find one in a cupboard which had a private note in.The bed was very comfy, powerful shower plenty of hot water, the stairs we found steep as is mentioned in owners description. We had fish and chips from the village, these were very good, village shop has good selection of essentials, would definitely recommend AZ a Turkish restaurant on Columbus ravine in Scarborough food was superb.

“Fantastic cozy cottage”

Reviewed 31 Oct 2017

This is a fantastic cottage, in a lovely location for touring North Yorkshire Coastline and Moors. We loved our stay, the cottage is well equipped and modern touches bring this cozy cottage into the 20th century without taking away its character and charm. The whole cottage from beds to sofas, were comfy, perfect for relaxing and sleeping after a busy day in the sea air. Kevin was a pleasure to deal with and prompt with responding, giving us confidence in our booking and stay. Thank you and look forward to staying again

Owner's reply: Hi Sarah, thats great feedback, we hope to see you again soon. Kevin

“Lovely cottage in quaint village”

Reviewed 30 Jun 2017

Lovely old cottage, clean, comfortable and well equipped . Plenty of room for 3 adults. Quiet location , only noticed the road at peak commuting times. Ideally situated for many of the North Yorkshire attractions. Plenty of room to park ,we had 2 motorbikes and a car. Short walk to friendly pub and probably the best fish & chips we have ever had. Very friendly neighbours. We had a great time even if the Yorkshire weather was a little unkind. Booking was easy and efficient.

Owner's reply: That's great feedback, thank you. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. See you again for better weather!

“Cosy little cottage”

Reviewed 29 Oct 2016

Just spent 4 nights in this lovely cottage. Cottage was clean, tidy and very well equipped. Children enjoyed making the fire every evening and also the selection of games on offer. The iPad was also well used! Off road parking was a bonus and although a little tight added to the charm of the cottage. The cottage was a great base for Scarborough, Pickering and Whitby which we visited whilst staying there. The only little niggle was the busy road. If your not used to the traffic then could be a slight issue. A fab time was had by us all and would definitely consider booking here again in the future.

“Lovely cottage”

This was a beautiful stay in a lovely little cottage, perfect location for Whitby, Pickering, Scarborough and York. The weather was good and the scenery is divine. Peddlers rest is a lovely homely cottage, well equipped, comfortable with a huge kitchen. Thank you again for a lovely stay Andy, Julie & Mum xx

Owner's reply: That's great, see you again soon

“Relaxing and perfect”

Reviewed 27 Oct 2014

Everything was perfect for our stay at Kevin's cottage. The fire was already made for us which was a lovely touch and the cottage itself is lovely and cosy and is extremely homely with everything you could possibly need! If you need to chill and relax then a stay at Peddlers Rest is a must. The neighbours were friendly. A trip to the chip shop is a must (only 100 yards away). Perfect location to visit all the Yorkshire attractions. We will be returning to Yorkshire to see everything we didn't get chance to see and will definitely be looking at staying here again. Thanks again Steph & Dave
