Underhill Holiday Cottage offers stylish open plan self catering accommodation for up to 2 people.

Underhill Cottage is ideally situated in a quiet spot away from the main road down a steep track (not suitable for low suspension vehicles) in the perfect location with stunning views across the Esk valley. It is nestled between the vibrant seaside town of Whitby and the tranquil and beautiful scenery of the North Yorkshire Moor National Park. This rural location is home to an abundance of natural wildlife, wild flowers and provides an ideal environment for a wonderful holiday.

A beautiful converted barn Underhill Holiday Cottage has been individually styled and furnished to provide top quality accommodation in a superb location. Underhill Holiday Cottage provides an open plan studio living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area along with 1 double bedroom and 1 bathroom.

Sleights is an attractive well served village with a mini market, pub, butcher, bakery, fish and chip takeaway/restaurant, tea room and numerous cafes along the River Esk. The North Yorkshire Moors National Park is on the doorstep with easy access to villages like Goathland (Heartbeat country) and Grosmont where you can step back in time on the famous steam railway. There are glorious walks nearby including the Cleveland Way which offers miles of walks across the old railway line. The quaint port of Whitby is only 4 miles away where there are full local amenities including a fascinating mix of eclectic shops, high quality restaurants and sandy beaches.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. We really listen to our guests and we are sorry that you felt the need to list some of your issues in a review rather than speak to us direct. As you know before any guest stays with us we email a Welcome Information pack which states what is/isn't provided in the cottage. This is to help guests pre-plan what to bring along with them. You will see that a hairdryer is not listed, nor is condiments, shower gels, hair products etc... When guests arrive we always aim to introduce ourselves and ensure that guests are happy with the cottage. We also state that should you need ANYTHING during your stay just simply ask, we are next door and aim to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Yes, the outdoor patio table may of been dusty/dirty and require a wipe down, we did experience some heavy rainfall and as we are in the North Yorkshire Moors we have an abundance of wildlife flying around. If you had of highlighted to us that the table needed a wipe we wouldn't of provided you with a cloth and bowl we would of cleaned it for you. We appreciate that you may not of wanted to bother us and if that was the case there was washing up liquid and a cleaning spray provided under the sink. Underhill Holiday Cottage is a 1 bedroomed cottage and although we want our guests to have a home from home experience it is impossible to squeeze absolutely everything in (but we do try!)

Why can't I call Tina (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How can I retract my booking request?

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Tina (the owner) a message.

If Tina (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
