“excellent accommodation will be back”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2016

Felt immediately at home, the accomodation and area had everything we could wish for. We will be back soon hopefully to see the otters! Thanks Dave and Karen LUCAS

Glad you enjoyed your stay. The otters have been around playing and salmon jumping today as we were cleaning.

This by far the best cottage we have stayed in. Just as been said it is immaculately clean,so well equipped and full of generous thoughtful touches, especially the welcome hamper. The garden and the summerhouse right on the River Esk are superb, enhanced by the wildlife and the occasional steam train whistling by with the moors and the sea within walking distance. What more could one ask?

We are so glad you have had a lovely time. It was a pleasure to meet you both.

“October holiday break”

When looking for somewhere to stay being clean is a number one requisite. No one could fault the standard of cleanliness . The bath was large and deep, free standing , perfect to relax .a beautiful cosy cottage with off street parking and summer hourse, very picturesque . Of all the places we have stayed the owner was amazing . Everything you read is true. Whitby is a few miles away, plenty to see and do. After some bad news it was a really good trip ..thanks Tracy . Your beautiful hamper and attention to detail was gratefully appreciated.

We are so glad you managed to relax despite your sad news. It was lovely to meet you all. Thank you for your lovely comments.

“First class property-highly recommended!”

Immaculately presented, well equipped property with a beautiful garden. The summer house at the end of the garden overlooking the river was a delight, watching the fish leap and the kingfishers play was an unexpected pleasure. The cottage provided a very peaceful and relaxing base to explore North Yorkshire. The welcome extended by the owners and the presentation of a welcome basket on arrival must also be mentioned. A highly recommended property!

Thank you for your review. Glad you have seen the king fishers they are a regular visitor flying past the summer house. Sorry you did not see the otters playing, they are a delight too.

“Immaculate cottage with a beautiful garden.”

River Bank Cottage is very tastefully furnished, well equipped and exceptionally clean! On top of that there were numerous extras such as a very generous hamper of wine, chocolate and groceries, a beautiful vase of flowers, delicious cakes from the local bakery and much more. This along with the lovely welcome from Tracey got our holiday off to a great start. We had very good weather and so were able to make the most of the garden, summerhouse and river ! Thoroughly enjoyed canoeing on the Esk as well as walking to Whitby. If you didn't want to drive or walk too far then transport links are on the doorstep as well as local shops (fairly close) selling good quality local produce. I can honestly say this has been the best holiday in this country we've had in years. I always make a point of never returning to somewhere already visited but River Bank Cottage is the exception. I would love to return. Thank you Tracey and Robert.

It was a pleasure to have you to stay at the cottage. Thank you for all your kind comments.

“Beautiful immacul;ate cottage in stunning location.”

We have just had a wonderful weeks holiday in this lovely cottage . The cottage has everything you need beautiful gardens with summerhouse and private jetty to fish from which my husband really enjoyed. The cottage inside was spotlessly clean and luxurious we even had a big hamper with tea, coffee, milk,, some delicious cakes, fresh flowers waiting for us when we arrived which was a lovely touch from Tracy the owner. We didnt need to use our car just jumped on the bus to Whitby, took 10 mins to get there, bus stop was just across the road . If you are looking for a peaceful relaxing retreat this is the place to go , a couple of minutes down the road is a garden centre that does lovely meals sandwiches etc overlooking the river Esk.I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage , Tracy the owner was really helpful and nothing too much trouble, thank you so much Tracy for giving us the opportunity to stop in your beautful cottage. Debra and Nick from Lancashire

We are so glad you enjoyed your break, even though the weather was not kind to you. Wished Nick caught a fish! Lovely to meet you Debra and Nick. Thank you for your kind comments.
