“Wonderful week away in a beautiful location”

Reviewed 15 Mar 2015

4 of us stayed for a week at the start of March. Great location, 1hr 15 from Cork. The cottage is set in lovely surroundings, has a wonderful view out to the sea and across to the mountains. Lovely and spacious, well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, great bathrooms. There's loads of outdoor space which I can imagine is great in the warmer months. Claire was great, she came up to welcome us and show us where everything was - even gave us an invite to the local pub as there was live Irish music on that night. She lives just down the road so is close enough if there's any probs. Some of the places we visited were Lough Hyne, only 10mins drive and lovely to walk around. Mizen Head, Sheeps Head, Cork City, Beara Way, Kinsale, Bamtry & The Wild Atlantic Way. We didn't get time for Lakes of Killarney or the Ring of Kerry. We had such a fun week and would definitely recommend a stay at Eagles Nest. Thanks again to Claire & Family for a super week!

“Home from Home”

this is ideal for anyone travelling who doesnt want to stay in hotels or B & Bs. bring food with you as the nearest shop is Skibbereen (4 miles ) we ate out on our travels & in the evenings, the views are beautiful especially with a glass in hand from the hot tub, which is fabulous. our weather wasnt the best so the house was a great comfort and not at all restricting. a warm welcome from Claire the owner was nice and gave us info on the area too. A trip to Mizen Head is a must with the beach at Barley Cove ..and a cuppa in Schull was a great day. we also spent an enjoyable day in Cobh at the fota wildlife park and titantic exibition ..the kids loved.

HAd the best stay - super easy, everything we needed and wanted - location was perfect, view perfect and what we bought on line we got in real life - sometimes you are disappointed with the reality of where you have booked - this was the opposite - it was even better than we expected. thank you Claire and family....a lovely piece of home in a rental property.

“Lovely house in a stunning location”

Reviewed 16 May 2014

This is a lovely house with all the amenities you could ask for, including the comfiest bed I've ever slept in! The hot tub too was a delight - when we weren't out and about one of us was always in there! The location is stunning with gorgeous scenery and walks literally on the doorstep. Claire was a great host, making sure we had everything we needed and even popped by with some cakes which were most appreciated!

“Beautiful home in a beautiful place .....I need say no more ......”

Reviewed 15 Oct 2013

Everything as described and more. A relaxing break for us and my parents. Our little 2 year old loved the animals. From the calves in the nearby field to the dogs & cats from the nearby homes. We will definately return. A very safe home and place for children to be. Bonus of the holiday - owner collected our Chinese takeaway! You don't get better service then that! Thank you

“Great house”

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful house, very lucky with the weather. The house is very modern and the only thing I would recommend is a Hoover as it's easier than brushing. It must be fantastic in summer, the views are fab.

“AMAZING HOUSE AND LOCATION - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED”

Reviewed 6 Jun 2012

We stayed at the Eagles Nest for a week at the end of May. The house is beautiful with everything you could ever need. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and cosy. The hot-tub and the wi-fi are an added bonus. The views from the decking are fantastic and it was relaxing just to sit back in the hot tub and admire the views. The surrounding towns were great with lots of lovely pubs and restaurants and beautiful beaches. We will definitely be returning to the area and will definitely be returning to the Eagles Nest. Thanks to the owner, Claire for all her help :)

“Ein Traum! Wunderschön.”

Reviewed 29 May 2012
