“Beautiful setting beside the water”

Reviewed 29 Jul 2013

The lodge is very cosy when the wind is howling outside and the fire crackling inside. The view from the bay-window is wonderful and it's a great place to sit and gaze out at the lake. There's a huge big fireplace in the living-room, a very handy kitchen and a cute spiral staircase leading up to bedrooms and bathroom on the first floor. The beds are comfortable and the view from the twin room is great too. It's a beautiful area and great for walking, cycling, canoeing etcetera. Being at the end of the road, this lodge is nice and quiet.

“Idyllic location”

Reviewed 21 Jul 2013

An excellent base for visiting south west Cork; the Gate Lodge is quaint and full of character, in very peaceful setting at the waters edge of Lough Ine, a lake of fascinating biodiversity. ideal for couples looking for a quiet getaway. A strenuous 45 minute walk to the top of a nearby hill, gave stunning panoramic views of the area and coastline.
