“Amazing Find...Perfect for a family reunion!”

Reviewed 16 Aug 2016

What an amazing gem of a place. Feel so lucky to have found it after being let down elsewhere! Can say it was a 'blessing in disguise' This was by far superior in every way. Our family of 18 travelled from Edinburgh, Southport and Newcastle for our annual get together. Absolutely loved The Old Mill. The children loved the huge grounds for running about in and the games/theatre room was such a bonus too. After the initial 'shock' of having no t.v. they played many games together both in and out of the house and the elder ones are learning the piano so were thrilled to be able to polish up their skills! Many renditions of Greensleeves :) The lounge, bedrooms, kitchen and dining areas were fabulous. So well equipped in every way. We also asked for a cot and high chair which was there when we arrived along with the fabulous Anthea who showed us around and explained everything. Thank you Anthea. I can't think of any negatives and would recommend this for families, groups, meetings or anyone who wants a quiet get away in a secluded but easily accessible property. We visited many surrounding areas too - like the Forbidden Corner (a must do!) and Big Sheep, Little Cow (or something like that) which was a fab day out too. Great base for exploring. All in all a wonderful experience and we look forward to returning before our family outgrows even this (two more additions imminent) But sleeps 20 so should be ok - for a while. Oh and we took our dog too and he loved the rabbits!!!! Thank you again Bernie, Steve and family
