Very Good

“Perfect idyll”

Reviewed 21 Apr 2018

We had a wonderful time with a house full of teenagers and the perfect view. Thank you for such a thoughtful house. It had everything we needed, even a Paddington Bear puzzle! Postioned in a lovely corner of Skye, every part of this lovely island can be explored. How lucky we were to find this retreat. Please look after those cows. We became quite fond of them.

“A peaceful retreat”

Cuan Beag is truly a 'home from home' holiday cottage. From the minute you enter the cottage you feel relaxed because it's warm, you have breath taking views and a lovely bottle of wine left for you. It's spotlessly clean and fully equipped. We watched 7 seals in the loch and many different birds. At Dunvegan we saw a white tailed eagle. If your coming to Skye don't hesitate to book Cuan Beag it is top class.:)

“Winter Holiday”

Reviewed 10 Feb 2018

Fantastic week in the lovely Cuan Beag. Gorgeous views each morning across Loch Snizort and well placed base to travel from each day, at the same time, off the beaten track for peace and quiet. At night the sky is so bright with stars we could see the Milky Way! The individual temperature control settings for each room worked well, negating any arguments about being too hot or cold and the underfloor heating was the cherry on top of the cake for toasty toes in winter! Would recommend Cuan Beag to anyone looking to stay in Skye : )

“Wonderful location for a very cosy and spacious holiday cottage”

Reviewed 1 Feb 2018

Wonderfully situated in a rural location but with easy access into Portree for eating out or shopping in the well stocked Co-op. Immediate access to the shoreline from the garden and views across the loch to enjoy every day. When we first arrived we could see the snow capped mountains of the Isle of Harris in the distance and caught sight of the ferry from Uig. We even photographed the aurora one night from the shoreline. The cottage is warm and cosy with underfloor heating, spacious with lots of room to spread. Very comfy leather sofas and a big dining table that would easily sit six, though there were only three of us. We didn't use the log burner as we were warm enough without it. Lots of light from huge windows that overlook the loch and garden areas. Kitchen was equipped with everything you could wish for and all utensils and pots & pans were clean. Bedrooms whilst not huge, were perfectly adequate with lots of storage and beds were warm and very comfortable. I liked the fact the ensuite to our bedroom not only had the main rain shower, but also attached to this was a conventional shower head which I prefer as I don't like water over my face!! Very well thought out. There was a heated towel rail in the main bathroom and the two ensuites. A very useful boot area leads into a utility area in the entrance which housed the washing machine and tumble drier and plenty of drying space for wet clothes etc. Overall a very well fitted out holiday let which we would definitely return to.

We had a brilliant week in Cuan Beag. It's a superbly equipped, beautifully situated house. Everything inside has been carefully chosen to ensure that the holiday goes smoothly - kitchen utensils for every need, a huge TV, log-burner, underfloor heating, good shower, comfy beds and all topped off with excellent views. Jenny and Dave are proactive owners, extremely approachable and very helpful. Great!

“Perfect place on Skye”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2017

We stayed with 14- and 13-year-old kids in the summer holidays and I think their favourite activities on our whole trip were playing draughts from the games shelf in the lounge and eating toasted sandwiches in the kitchen! They and we loved the cottage. They're often on their phones (although probably not streaming Netflix all day) and declared the wifi completely fine. I had no issues either when researching walks, trips etc online. There was plenty of room for us all to have our own space, and the facilities were excellent, with everything in the kitchen meticulously labelled so you can remember where it came from! The location was perfect as previous reviewers have said, tranquil with lovely views but so handy for the amenities in Portree and getting out to the Quiraing, Dunvegan Castle, kayaking in Uig, Ullinish, etc. We picked up a Tesco order (click and collect) in Portree on our way through, which I would highly recommend if you know you can be there at a particular time. Finally, communication with Jenny was fantastic - she was so helpful in response to my detailed enquiries! Thanks Jenny.

“Just Perfect”

Reviewed 10 Sep 2017

This was our first visit to Skye and we could not have chosen a better property. The house offers excellent amenities, it is spotlessly clean and offers everything you need including acceptable wifi. The location is ideal for travelling, close to Portree and situated in such a lovely and quiet spot. The photos were taken from the main lounge. Everything we needed was provided including a nice bottle of wine to enjoy on the decking area and admire the wonderful views. Jenny provided all the information required and I would rate this property as first class. There was only one problem, our stay of one week was not long enough.

Owner's reply: Thank you very much Alan! Perhaps your experience will tempt you back to Skye again soon. :-)

“Great house in a lovely location.”

Reviewed 6 Aug 2017

This house is in a lovely position only 15 minutes drive from Portree. Everything was spotlessly clean and the house was thoughtfully decorated and laid out. As we had kayaks with us it was fantastic to be so close to the water. We kayaked most afternoons and every time we were joined by seals who popped their heads out of the water to look at us! The bottle of wine left for us was appreciated as were other touches such as plenty of towels, cloths, toilet rolls, washing capsules etc. The owners responded very quickly to any questions we had but left us alone to enjoy our holiday.

“Ideal location and good accommodation”
