“The cottage is very clean, warm and comfortable, with excellent facilities.”

Reviewed 17 Feb 2015

This is our third winter visit here with our daughter, who is at Exeter University. Newcourt Barn is excellent accommodation, in a pleasant village. Great location for walking in the beautiful countryside in this part of Devon and close to Exeter. The cottage is comfortable, well laid out and very well equipped. It is very warm and cosy, which is essential for a winter visit. It is also dog friendly. There is an excellent and friendly shop a short walk away. Three pubs in the village, which serve food and an attractive old church and green around the corner.

“Comfortable and well equipped accommodation in a lovely village.”

We visited Newcourt barn with our young daughter (in travel cot provided), grandparents and our dog in early January. We were greeted by the owners on arrival who showed us around and then left us to our own devices for the rest of the week. The barn has everything you need for a stay of a week or more, and the furniture/equipment is of a good quality. We were in the area to explore Exeter and it's surrounds as we are moving that way later in the year and this proved to be a good base for doing that with the drive to/from Exeter being quick and painless. Our dog was welcomed with her own package of goodies and their are lots of local walks from the barn for daily exercise (although a bit boggy when we were there!). The village has 3 pubs and a local shop open 7 days a week, and there are other good pubs in the area. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet location, with good access to this area of Devon.
