Location description from owner

The Turkish Aegean Coast region

Water Parks & Beaches

The Water parks, Adaland and Aquafantasy. Adaland has some bigger and faster rides but they are both quite similar.

Beaches, there are many beaches in and around Kusadasi including Ladies beach, Silver Sands, Long Beach & Paradise Beach. All have crystal clear waters, sun beds, parasols and utilities. Ladies beach is the most popular and therefore busiest but well worth a visit.

Samos, the Greek Island of Samos not only makes for a beautiful back drop for Kusadasi’s spectacular sunset. Ferry boats run from the Ege Port in Kusadasi to Samos daily during the Summer and the journey takes roughly 2 hours. You can book at any of the excursion outlets in town.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ephesus

Ephesus, these ancient ruins situated about an hours drive away housed one of the greatest libraries of the ancient world. They are in a constant state of excavation with more finds being exposed each year. Well worth the trip.

Virgin Mary House, it is believed by many that the Virgin Mary spent her last days in the vicinity of Ephesus in this humble home. Situated only a few kilometers from Ephesus you can combine the two sites in a day.

Sirince, is an old Greek village near the town of Selcuk it is one of the most beautiful villages in this region of Turkey. It has an authentic village atmosphere with many of the buildings having been restored to their original state. Sirince is also famous for its wine and there are a number of Wine Houses where you can sample the local produce along with numerous restaurants and souvenir shops.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shopping

Shopping in Kusdasi, there are many Bazaars in and around Kusadasi which never seem to shut. The main area around the port is a warren of streets selling mainly leather and cotton based goods. It is part of the experience to "haggle" which can be quite fun, unless you are in a hurry! You will often be asked to sit down have a cup of tea while the negotiations take place, remember to make your first offer as low as you dare, this will normally be met with a sharp intake of breath and much hand wringing, then it is a battle of wits with the shopkeeper as he will normally have a wife and ten children to support!!

Selcuk Market, This is held every Saturday from early in the morning until late at night. Browse around the many stalls where you can pick up bargains or the latest "Genuine Fakes"!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

National Park

Milli Park National Park, On the Dilek Peninsula the Milli Park covers over 28 hectares offering many mountain trails and hikes. Also lovely untouched beaches (First one is sandy & the next three pebble). There is a wide variety of wild life in the park including wild boar which often make an appearance around the beaches scavenging for food. Always good for a photo opportunity the young boar are especially cute. The most we have seen in one family group is ten babies trotting behind their parents, just like a Disney film! There is an entrance fee for the park based on size of vehicle, staring from 15TL for a car.

Pigeon island, also known as Bird Island, is the symbol of Kusadasi and where the name Kusadasi (meaning Bird Island) originated from. Visit the Museum inside the old Byzantine Castle or simply sit down and enjoy the panoramic view of Kusadasi.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Diving

Diving, There are three main locations for diving in Kusadasi bay:

The first is a shore dive, which means a fairly shallow dive of less than 10 metres, remaining close in shore. However, that doesn’t mean it’s not a good dive as there are plenty of varieties of smaller fish and usually a few octopus to be seen in and around the rocks. Plus, first time novice divers get to feed the fish on these dives.

Then there’s Barabaros Reef which is located about 1km directly out in the bay from the Grand Blue Sky Hotel. This is a favoured reef as it is quite large (measuring about 1km long by about 7 – 800 metres wide). This reef starts at about 6 metres deep and goes down to 41 metres deep. There are generally plenty of barracuda and large Groupers to be seen, along with many other varieties of fish, coral, sponges, octopus, Moray eel, and some pretty hefty clams (some are nearly 5 – 6 foot tall). There is a smallish cave on this reef, but it doesn’t really count as a cave dive as its quite a simple entry and exit.

Finally, there’s Adabanko Reef, which is located about 1.5 km directly off shore from the harbour in town. This reef is smaller in size than Barbaros, but it goes a lot deeper (95 metres). At 27 (ish) metres deep on this reef there’s a Roman wreck that can be readily identified from the amphora sitting on the reef.

Silver Sand Beach

The ancient city of Ephesus which is home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World is just 45 mins away. Also, within 15 minutes drive, you will find some of the finest shopping and bazaars, an excellent Aquapark, a go-karting circuit and many other facilities for both children and adults.

The complex is just a few minutes from un-spoilt market town of Davutlar, about 10 km from the lively resort of Kusadasi and just a few kilometres from the golf course development at Caferli. The beach, local shops and supermarkets are only 1.5 km away and can be accessed by the Dolmus, the local mini-bus system. The Dolmus stop is conveniently situated at the entrance to the complex.

“Beautiful, spacious villa in quiet countryside with lovely sea views”

Reviewed 30 Dec 2013

Lovely stay in this spacious villa. Wonderful views from the roof top terrace as well as the patio. The beach is a short drive away and we found the Silver Sands Beach to be very welcoming. Great accommodation - definitely will be back when we visit Kusadasi again.

“Great villa”

Reviewed 18 Sep 2013

We stayed at Cypress Villas from 12-19 August 2013. The villa is very large with ample room for everyone. The views are breathtaking with a back drop of mountains from the living room. The pool is large and clean and only 30 seconds away. I would recommend this villa if you have large family and looking for a relaxing holiday.
