Description from owner


Chandler's Cottage is a comfortable home from home within easy walking distance of Sidmouth town centre and sea front. It has been independently inspected and awarded 4 stars under The AA self-catering accommodation grading scheme.

Cosy up in the living room on one of two comfy sofas in front of the wood burning stove. There's also a flat screen Freeview TV with DVD player and a bluetooth speaker if you want to play your own music library. There are plenty of books, games and DVDs on hand.

The kitchen diner is well equipped for self-catering (although you'll find plenty of places to eat out within walking distance in Sidmouth and the surrounding area).

The master bedroom has a 5ft king size bed and the second bedroom has two 3ft single beds.

Outside there's a mature garden with a couple of sheltered sunny patios. You'll have exclusive use of the private off-road parking area.

I offer short breaks from 3 nights as well as longer stays up to 14 nights. It's unlikely that I'd be able to accommodate more than 2 weeks as we use the cottage regularly ourselves.

Changeover days are Fridays and Tuesdays, although I can offer you other arrival days, particularly outside of the peak holiday season in July and August.

Please note that the TripAdvisor system calculates the prices for holidays automatically and shows the most accurate prices for 3 and 7 night stays. However, it's pricing can be wrong for other lengths of stays or stays that don't start or end on a Tuesday or Friday. Please send me an enquiry and I'll be happy to work out the correct price for you.

If you have children here are a few things to bear in mind - we don't provide a cot or high chair. There is space in the double bedroom for a compact travel cot or Moses basket. A full size travel cot will fit in the twin bedroom (although the unusual shape of the room means that the single beds can't be pushed together to make a double). There isn't much space for a free standing high chair. The garden features stone paths, stone chippings and there's no lawn.

Getting around

Sidmouth town and beaches are within walking distance (under a mile) and there are regular buses to neighbouring towns along the coast if guests want to let someone else do the driving.

We use the cottage regularly ourselves and fit our visits around guests bookings. It is unlikely, therefore, that we would accept a booking of more than 2 weeks long, even if the calendar shows a longer period as available.

Welcoming, warm, cosy cottage with an amazing eye for detail. Perfect for a small family with well stocked book shelves, films & toys for cosy evenings in. Lovely riverside walk down into town. Will definitely be visiting again

Beautiful Cottage tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The location was excellent, quiet but a 15-20 min stroll into town. Especially loved the garden and at night was lit up by pretty solar lights.Will definitely be returning.

The cottage is beautiful throughout with lovely woodburner, great dining kitchen, comfortable sofas and beds. Spotlessly clean with a welcome pack on arrival, which was a real treat! The owner (Jo) was really helpful/friendly and accommodated our request for a short Thurs - Sun stay. Location brilliant, with lovely river walk at bottom of the road down to town/seafront (approx 15 mins) and Spar just over the road. Really close to Donkey Sanctuary and Bicton Park (both within 15 mins by car). good sized Waitrose store about 5 mins drive too if you need a bigger shop. All in all, wonderful short break!

How do damage deposits work?
