“Beautiful Cotswold Cottage with everything you require for a comfortable stay”

Reviewed 8 Mar 2016

We booked this beautiful cottage for a group of 6 ladies, whom are friends and family we just wanted somewhere we could relax and take in the beauty of the Cotswold's. The cottage had everything you need for a very comfortable stay with a few lovely touches, like a welcome tray, fresh flowers and a bag of logs for the wood-burner. There are three lovely Pubs within walking distance two of which we had meals in and one just for a drink and right on the door step is Wychwood Gardens, which was beautiful for our Sunday Morning walk. All in all we would highly recommend this cottage and village for a comfortable stay.

“Full of character, well equipped and in a lovely location.”

There's always a little worry when booking a holiday property on behalf of others, even when using a company that one has used previously. I knew I'd got this one right, however, when I spoke to the owner of Gardener's Cottage on the morning of our arrival - she was friendly, knowledgeable about the area and very helpful; this was endorsed when I received a text from the first arrivals from our party: "It (the cottage) is absolutely gorgeous – nice find!" Loads of character, but bang up to date, very well supplied in terms of glassware, mugs and cutlery, well furnished and comfortable bedrooms, and located in a charming rural village. There are three pubs/restaurants within a few minutes walk, with others close by. Burford is handy for interesting shopping and a fab' garden centre. Really cannot think of anything that we liked least, we would definitely return.

“Very homely, well-equipped cottage with a spacious garden in a great village location.”

Gardeners Cottage was lovely and everything was provided for an easy and comfortable stay. The attention to detail and quality of the furnishings made this a great place to come home to after a busy day sightseeing. The garden was a delight, sunny throughout the day, with great outdoor furniture to relax and eat outside. The basic cleaning and food provisions in the property and the welcome tray of goodies were a lovely thoughtful bonus. Location wise, this is a great central spot for exploring Oxford, Stratford and the Cotswolds, with Blenheim Palace being a must-see. The village location was perfect, very pretty with a local shop and 2 pubs (The Lamb and The Wychwood) which serve great food, all within walking distance. Also great service from the agent-Jigsaw cottages. Highly recommended.

“Great cottage, great location”

Truly a delightful stay in this wonderful cottage. Great amenities and a lovely, comfortable base for exploring the Cotswolds. The welcome note and homemade marmalade were a very nice touch. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend for a family stay. The children had great fun in the garden (which was visited by a friendly deer one evening) and also exploring the woods nearby.

“Home from home”

We were a group of 5 ladies enjoying a weekend break and found Gardeners cottage perfectly suited to our needs. Location was ideal...in a pretty village with pubs within walking distance. The Cottage had two bathrooms and a spacious lounge with a woodburner and was very well equipped in all ways. There was a large dining room and for families there is the addition of a second lounge. The ensuite bathroom with walk in shower for the master bedroom was fantastic! The garden was lovely with some great furniture and despite it being March we had lunch outside in the sun twice. The owner was so helpful and very kindly left us a little welcome pack. We could definitely recommend this cottage!

“Excellent property”

We had been looking for a cottage where we could meet up with friends for a weekend away and Gardeners Cottage was just perfect. It is beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay. We loved the wood burning stove and all the attention to detail that the owners had provided that made us feel at home.

“A fabulous Cotswold cottage which was perfect in every way.”

A really super chocolate box Costwold cottage. The cottage is delightful with lots of space and a quirky layout. We had a super pre-Christmas getaway and the house had been decorated for Christmas with a tree and little touches that made the stay extra special. Sitting around the woodburner was a joy and the house is truly a home from home! Beautiful interiors and a lovely garden.

“Perfect in every way”

This cottage has everything you need and more. We simply didn't want to go home! Beautifully furnished to a very high standard but retaining its original character and charm. A fantastic weekend getaway so close to lots of great places to visit. We will be back.... Without doubt.
