From the owner

An idyllic countryside hideaway set amongst the rolling hills of Dorset, just two miles north of the historic market town of Sherborne. Escape to our cosy, converted barn and relax in the lovely gardens. Peace, quiet and beautiful surroundings await.

Our barn contains a master bedroom with double bed (4'6" × 6'3"), a bunk room sleeping two young children (the bunk beds are only 5' 9" long), a living room with small kitchenette (with microwave/ combi-oven, fridge and two electric rings) behind cupboard doors, and one bathroom with bath and hand-held shower. The Barn is separate but in view of the main house and has ample parking space outside.

After discussion with the owners, feel free to stroll around the gardens and surrounding fields and use the swimming pool (open in summer months).

Our village is surrounded by pristine English countryside, with plenty of footpaths and bridleways in all directions. Our village pub The Mitre is only 10 minutes walk away and serves very good food. There are many other pubs serving excellent food nearby. Sherborne Golf Club is situated at the top of our hill, just above the house. The charming market town of Sherborne is only two miles away. It boasts a range of local shops, cafes and restaurants as well as two castles and the beautiful Abbey, with some of the finest fan-vaulting in the country. Yeovil, with its Fleet Air Arm Museum, is six miles away. Further afield are Frome, Bath, Glastonbury, Street with its shopping village and the stunning Jurassic coast as well as the historic town of Dorchester. This is the perfect spot for visits to the many local schools in the area.

Our nearest train station is in Sherborne (a 10 minute drive). It takes just over two hours on a direct train to get to London Waterloo. There are taxis outside the station. By road, we are 15 minutes south of the A303, and 6 minutes north of the A30. It takes about an hour to walk into Sherborne.

    How do damage deposits work?

    In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.
