"Charming, quiet, rural retreat"
The owner has put a lot of thought into this place. It had everything I needed with large bedroom (comfortable bed), Egyptian cotton sheets, dark blinds to keep the light out, with the styling of a smarter hotel. Small kitchenette had everything I needed to be self sufficient, and upstairs was a snug living space with sofa. Wifi worked well and was fast. Ensuite with a shower. Outside had plenty of parking and it's own lovely little garden. Enjoyed using it as a base from which to cycle around the lanes. Good access to A303 and close to Sherborne. Very friendly. Would definitely stay again.

"Nice little getaway"
If you like little hideaways, this is right up your street. This suited us down to the ground for our last minute getaway. A car is essential, due to its location. There are plenty of good pubs less than 10 minutes drive away, and we certainly sampled one or two of them. Everything is compact and easy to find. We had fun with the low ceiling in the sitting room. Anyone taller than 5ft 10ins would have problems, but we made it a game of "mind your head". The kitchen is basic, with little surface room. You might want to view this before getting any extras you would have at home. Clothes and kitchen towel were my missing extras. But we hadn't gone away for me to cook, so this suited our needs. We were made to feel very welcome by our host, who furnished us with scones & jam on our arrival, and provided us with a local map. There are plenty of public footpaths in the area, and we started a few. There was no live TV available but BBC iplayer and Netflix were provided. But we had taken a laptop with us, so with the internet access we could watch live programmes if we needed to. After a day or so, we really didn't miss the TV. The bed is seriously comfy. Once the fresh air gets in to your lungs you will find you have a very restful sleep. We both charged our batteries, which was our main reason for picking this cottage.

"quiet, relaxing and comfortable"
Left waterloo after work, arrived at cottage within 2 hours. Perfect quiet surroundings and nice garden to sit in. The owner had put a bottle of bubbly in the fridge at our request. The rooms were clean and had a nice homely feel nice to get away from it all.
Im delighted that you found your stay relaxing and comfortable. Seems Gardeners Cottage and the Dorset countryside did their job for you.
