Very Good

“Great stay”

Reviewed 18 May 2018

Had a lovely break away with the husband and our 17 month old son. Greeted with a wonderful welcome pack for when we arrived. Our little boy loved playing on the slide and swing and seeing the chickens all in all we had a fab time.

“Second Perfect Stay at Peat Pits Farm”

Reviewed 18 Apr 2018

This is the second time my partner and I have stayed in Hawk Cottage at Peat Pits Farm. Both times our stay has been excellent. The cottage is cosy and comfortable and provides everything we have needed. The owner is really friendly and both times we have been welcomed with homemade bread, fresh eggs and local beers. It is in a good location with Sheffield in easy driving access and the rest of the Peak District to explore. The whole landscape is picturesque (although foggy this time!) and it is our favourite place in the world and Peat Pits Farm is our favourite place to stay!

“Super Cottage and lovely area”

Reviewed 8 Dec 2017

Having a fantastic time in this lovely cottage. So comfortable and warm. It has with a well equipped kitchen and a lovely comfy bed. We arrived to find a fantastic array of goodies including fresh homemade bread , butter milk tea & coffee as well as two bottles of local beer from The Bradfield Brewery close by, and jars of honey, jam and marmalade. The surrounding area is fantastic for walking with a beautiful old church steeped in history. We have also stayed previously in the adjoining Curlew cottage which was equally as good as Hawk cottage. Sara the owner is always on hand if anything is required as is very friendly and helpful , though not obtrusive in any way. I would definitely recommend any of the two cottages.

“Brilliant cottage”

Visiting family from Somerset who live in Glossop and Sheffield and which was an excellent bolt hole to stay for a week, warm, clean, excellent facilities. Great welcome basket with local beer, milk, bread and butter. Thanks Sara for your hospitality.

“Our Second Stay and It's Always a Pleasure!”

Reviewed 9 Oct 2017

Stayed at Hawk Cottage for a week in September. This was our second visit (first in 2015). We are always happy with this lovely little cottage that is pretty, quiet and well equipped. Within a few miles of all the shops you'll need on your trip, but still out in the beautiful countryside. Highly recommended!

“Brilliant holiday”

“excellant place to stay peace and quiet”

Reviewed 1 Jul 2017

we were welcomed with a tray of eggs, home made bread and jam. The cottage was very nice and clean bed was too comfy, really peaceful, beautiful scenery and pubs were you could eat only 2 miles away and quite reasonably priced.the owner was very helpful and friendly nothing was too much bother, would definatly stay there again

“Homely Hawk Cottage”

Reviewed 29 Sep 2016

We enjoyed our stay in Hawk Cottage very much, it's very comfortable and homely, we immediately felt at home the moment we arrived. Sara the owner kindly provided a welcome pack including home baked bread and fresh eggs from her chickens, which was most appreciated. The cottage is well equipped, and there are various magazines, books and information on places to visit. The cottage is set in beautiful countryside yet only seven miles from Sheffield. We would have no hesitation in staying here again.
